That’s why it’s a peeve, not a reportable offense.
Just because something doesn’t happen in our direct view doesn’t mean that it for sure 100% didn’t happen. The implication of players being able to choose Man’ari skins for regular player characters is that now they’re out roaming the world and adventuring in the name of the Alliance, but we won’t know for sure either way until if or when it comes up in the overarching game story again.
Which I wouldn’t anticipate would happen until we get more Draenei content, maybe when their new city eventually shows up. Keep an eye out for Man’ari-skinned NPCs hanging out in newly created areas and staffing newly created events, though.
Since there’s nothing definitively stated either way, I give people leeway.
Heck, I give people leeway anyway. But I especially do when it means that people can interpret unspecified events however it works for the story that they’re telling.

I do think a lot of feathers that get ruffled would be less so if they stepped back and realized that everyone is (for the most part) trying to play along in the same sandbox & should be afforded the same grace

People with 200 “titles” on their TRP profile. where 99% of them are memes/inside jokes.
Nothing wrong with it just always surprises me to see such goofy titles in a serious RP profile lol

It boggles my mind when people say they’re related to a canon character or something. Go put that in your fanfiction, not in your character’s lore.
I legit saw a Dracthyr who claimed she was the “daughter of Neltharion” and “the First Blacktalon” in their TRP like WHAT.

You know what I meant, bud. One is complete nonsense and the other has to be lore abiding.

This may buck the trend a bit, but when folks don’t consider the real world implications, assumptions, descriptions, and inspirations within their characters and role play. None of what we play, say, or do, exists in a vacuum and we should be more aware of that when playing characters and creating stories.
This isn’t here to say you shouldn’t RP something (within general reason) but if you’re going to push some boundaries or know some of the troubled tropes used to create this world and its characters just be aware of any implications and issues that might arise and do your best to correct them/your character/your RP when pressed or informed.

Unless it is stated in lore, you can’t say it happened as a player. Unless it is addressed in lore it has not occurred yet. I don’t care that people play them, but within lore as nothing is stated in affirmation of them joining, I take that as them not being part of it yet
This is just me, but I like it when people ask before they want to attack my character.

I’ll bite.
I think when things are too rushed, it takes away from the story. While magic is helpful, and I understand that Stormwind is the epicenter of a lot of RP on Moon Guard, it is difficult for RP scenarios when someone leaves Lordaeron and returns to Stormwind within an hour.
Teleportation is one thing, sure, but when a character jsut appears in Stormwind after RPing in Lordaeron a few minutes before? It feels a little belittling. It can ruin the impact of stories and such. Same goes for other locations. BUT, I think it’s something I may just have to get used to!
I also think sometimes RP policing goes too far? In the end, we all jsut want to write cool stories.

I am in favor of that, with a distinct caveat. If you Role play a world enemy, such as scarlet crusade, twilight’s hammer, or perhaps The Cult of the Damned in open world RP, or in Stormwind I don’t think permission should be needed but I understand it is needed as it is Roleplay. having said that, if you do RP that kind of character in Stormwind openly and someone attacks out IC, you don’t get to complain.

I can only speak for myself, but I’d be far more open to engaging in a hostile encounter with someone that asks me first.
I think everyone can agree here that open city villains are annoying for a variety of reasons, but I don’t agree with the idea of being considered open season for anyone to attack simply because my character is from a hostile faction and/or your character doesn’t like mine when I’m out in the world doing my own thing with others. I’ve had complete strangers demand to kill my characters before out of the blue. It’s very awkward.
I just think it’s polite to discuss things beforehand.

It is more to do with lore. If you are RPing in wow I expect you to follow lore unless your RP is guilded RP only then it is nobody else’s business. Now, if you Rp openly in stormwind a faction that is openly hostile to the point in lore guards would kill you on sight, you don’t get to say “no i have the right to RP here how I want” as that is not true. In lore you would be killed on sight as say a scarlet, or twilight hammer.
I will also add in one I was just thinking about. While groups like SCA and SLP are fine and all, one RP pet peeve is when guard guilds try to enforce their non lore laws and rules that don’t actually exist in any canon into real RP.
Many guards that hang out, outside the building north of the cathedral are SCA I believe, the guilds “Stormwind City guard”. I love those guys totally as they are normally super cool, but my big issue is them “making arrests” or telling people not of the RP group made up laws that have no precedent in WoW. Like them having the scarlet flame be legal, or scarlet redemptionists being allowed within Stormwind. I believe they try to push too far with their RP when their material has no substance to lore.

This is kind of a timeless problem with RP in a setting that’s always been broad like a lake and deep like a puddle. When you’re playing a guild that leans into any kind of structure that isn’t cut-and-dry, you have to write your own material just to give yourself something to play around with. It’s not like there are canon sources on Stormwind court circuits and the judiciary.
In less words: What are those guilds supposed to do, in your opinion, when there are gaps that need to be filled but aren’t being filled by canon sources?

Keep their RP contained to their group, and not actively approach people who are RPing something that violates “their” made up laws.
I will bite.
I been RPing in SCA guard guild now for a about two weeks from what i seen and RPed for one they don’t allow scarlets, they are KOS, I am not sure about SLP.
And we also always ask OOC if we are allowed todo such or even engage in RP with a group or person. its only when they walk up to us that they give consent from that interaction, and if any member dose not there breaking the rules the guard has set. but this will most likely get me in trouble for saying this in the public, the guard is not with out its faults nor is SCA or for that matter any group that RPs a lore based kingdom in lore, and makes laws and RPs its gov.
These same groups will RP this and say “we are not lore breaking” but then proceed to call anything fanon lore breaking when in fact there who RP is also fanon, I am sorry. that is my pet peeves for RP is groups that want to say anything they don’t think is right in lore is lore breaking if that’s the case we are all lore breaking no where in the lore says that our chars are there in lore and no where dose it say we do what we do.
TLDR: WOW is a RPG (ROLEPLAYING GAME) people should not be shunned and gatekept for coming up with fanon ideas or lore, and should be allowed to enjoy it. The whole point of RP is to give freedom to people to create their own stories and have fun.
Sorry for my wall of text, but I been wanting to say this for a long time.

You may want to, oh I don’t know, maybe ask for OOC consent first?

Maybe I’m out of the loop. What could a Stormwind guard guy try to enforce that’s so far away from canon and playing in good taste in the shared public space that it would require ‘OOC consent’?
