Wish I knew ahead of time just how crappy rogues were in TBC… i would have saved my boost for a lock or mage.
I spent 8 hours today looking for a group to do heroics and was told 50+ times “sorry looking for caster dps”. When I did finally manage to get a group, it didnt matter how perfect I played, I was no match dps or utility wise to the under geared mage and lock in my party.
Think it’s time I retire my rogue and make a pally tank
Obviously “no changes” but something needs to be done to address rogue dps
You’re only in a, “sorry state” because you’re one of a thousand Rogues on your server, and one of five thousand DPS players on your server. You can’t AoE outside of cooldowns so your AoE trash DPS is very low, and without good weapons - which are much more important for physical DPS than a stat stick for casters - you’ll never catch them.
Rogues are kings of PvP though, and that’s what the vast majority are playing Rogue for.
The best dungeon tank and much easier to get uncrushable.
So your point in posting this was what exactly? Any simple search into tbc online would point to giant red signs saying “melee dps are bad until end game”. Just because you and all the other rogue players are suffering from being gear dependent doesn’t mean we should change the game right now because it’s not fair. Rogues won’t be looked at, enjoy your paladin.
If you look at LFG addon almost half of players creating groups are rogues. There’s simply too much rogues. Make your own group or find a guild and u r good.
Why didn’t you do minimal research? People on the forums were talking about how bad rogues would be compared to their classic dps. Many of us rerolled. If you boosted a rogue and didn’t know they were going to suck it’s your own fault for not checking to see if they were good. Rogues and warriors not being number one was being talked about here, on Reddit, and even Facebook groups.
