I checked his vid just now…and actually learned something i should have known. Popping orc racial early to get your poison stacks the AP buff and then sustaining that through the entire fight. Thanks for the tip. Also it appears that the DPS between keeping slice and dice up the entire fight and focusing more on envenom are pretty close to identical, except in certain specific scenarios. Good vid.

General comment, not going to get into the weeds on your specific strategy: You can’t just use 99 parses and assume everything they do applies in all cases, and high parsing is heavily influenced by RNG. And of course, they are running parse comps, most people here are not. You should prefer to analyze statistical sims rather than anecdotal parses.
FWIW, perfect use of S&D vs envenom is extremely close, which is probably why people are so fervently debating this.

Go to youtube, watch a guide on how to read logs on wcl.
Open logs from the top rogues on a specific fight and look up their casts and when they cast. Compare these inputs to the suggest rotation from guides and then play with it until you understand it more fluidly.
Most forum goers know nothing.
The best thing to do is what I did, naturally.
You go look at the top parsing rogues and you check the log to one of their fights, whichever boss you want.
Look at their damage done then go to casts.
Go through every single one of their ability casts and see what they used and when they used it.
Write down their rotation, then go practise yourself.
Correct
Each fight for every raid is different.
If slice n dice will last the full duration you use it
If not you envenom.

I’m IEA in Gnomer but when I did BFD for fun in PH2 did aight.
We also a boomer guild and don’t care about meta comps… I’m personally choosing to be IEA as we lack armor reduction. Rather have it then not…

Yes I open with mut from stealth and then get 4 CPS and SND.
Then pray I get a bonus cp then mut mut, pool a bit, cb 5 pt envenom.
Then if fight length will be longer than another SND I SND again, if not I envenom.

Still learning it too, can’t say I’ve ever used it with Mutilate.

mutilate is strong enough on its own it’s probably all you’ll need while questing. it’s when you get into dungeons and raids when you’ll start actually using slice and dice and envenom
