Rogue in rbg’s

Can someone tell me what is best for me to do in a rbg? Generally I’ll sit on a point in stealth and defend it. I can 1v1 most match ups, warriors not so much. I always call inc’s even if I know I can smash the guy coming my way. I’m new to wow, been playing only 2 months. I’m trying to climb and I’m doing rather well so far, but I’m looking for that spicy 2100 rating.

Pay attention to the other team. If you’re guarding say mines in ab, if you see where their rogue is and who is guarding st, ghost gm (tell team) and try and take st.

You honestly shouldn’t spend too much time guarding if they’re not attempting to come at you. If the team is demanding you sit they’re missing the opportunity for you to be disruptive in getting a cap or forcing the enemy to peel to stop you from it.

Assuming you have battleground enemies addon, spend time tracking where the enemy is and what they’re doing.

In bfg I pretty much work on sap capping the enemy base (lh or mines). Same concept, you get it and win, or you at least force them to peel 1-2 from ww team fight which should give your team the advantage.

Seething shore rogue is good to go solo a lot to slow the enemy from capping nodes or cap them yourself.

SSM I’ve seen some success with flipping carts but I don’t know much on that one.

In team fights i find it’s about controlling a healer in the back. With subterfuge (of talented) and dance you can get cheaps out on multiple targets, plus with kick, kidney, blind, duel, sap out of full blind, etc., a good rogue can practically take a healer out of the match long enough to make a big difference.

I’m not the highest rated rogue in RBGs, so there could very well be better more experienced opinions that come.

Just mine from recently switching to rogue for RBGs and seeing what has worked and doesn’t as well as what enemy rogues do well.

you want to be a nuisance to the other team.

flag games can be won for no other reason than, you, the rogue, are properly messing with the enemy flag carrier. triple sapping the flag carrier into blind, into cheap/kidney with slows on them… then into a triple sap again once dr is off buys your team SO MUCH TIME to either fast cap, or force their team to pick up the flag with a suboptimal flag carrier (that can quickly be bursted down)

also smoke bomb. coordinate with your team, let them know when and where you can smoke bomb a flag carrier and just blow somebody up.

on node maps, you want to always be threatening to ninja a base, even if you arent actively trying. just knowing that a rogue could be around makes the team play different.

What I like to do is if I’m holding a node say we are playing eots and I’m at BE. I’ll cap then while not stealth I’ll run a bit towards DR then stealth and run back to BE. It throws the guy guarding DR off and they will send 1 extra to defend thinking that you are coming.

I do that a few times until the “cry wolf” and nobody comes that’s when I’ll try and sap/blind cap.

As a rogue we are there just to play mind games with the enemy team like some of the guys said already. If you do leave let your team know. If you have another stealthy and the team fights aren’t going well. Call out to ppl and tell them you need the “boomy” to snag a point and split the enemy team.

I think as a rogue you need to have very good map awareness on who’s where and how you can be the most impactful. I just hit 1800 though so I’m still trying to get a better hold of all these things.
