That’s not a bug, that’s you trying to vanish with 4 mobs hitting you in the face, and one of them hitting you as you blow it.
In retail, blizzard has built in a moron check that basically makes you invincible for about 1.5 seconds when you vanish so you can’t instantly be brought out by a smart aoe or cleave, but that’s not what the skill is, or SHOULD be.

I only try to help people in this community but a lot of Americans now simply can’t stand to hear truth.
Anyways I hope rogues get the help they will inevitability need as Classic progresses it is one of the staple classes of any rpg. I wouldn’t even mind it they got Cloak of Shadows at 58 even though that would affect me the most.
Their most serious problem is their burst though which is not going to be enough in a few months to take people down. There is a reason none of the big streamers or private server heroes are playing rogues right now.
Why are you still talking? No one even moderately good at PvP has an interest in reading your ill-informed opinions and excuses.

you built to advance ambush… bad ~raps your knuckles~ while the crits that comes with it is nice and the damage looks nice in practice is not worth it you can only ambush from stealth which means you will only be able to do it 2 twice every five mins and you need to pay to vanish. bad rogue bad.
all you want to take from sub is opp 5. next you want to move over to the combat tree and pick up improved ss 2 and improved gouge 3 drop 5 points into precision because if you dont im gonna hit your knuckles so hard that I break them. your need be at cap hit as a rogue. then pick up backstab this is your primary main attack as a dagger rogue. then improved sprint as this gives you a cc break.
this is where you want to ask yourself what kind of dagger rogue do you want to be if you want to be seal of fate put a point into off hand spec and then move onto assassiation.
if you want to be an combat dagger you will take offhand and dagger spec / blade flurry /endurance and ad rush. the rest of your points drop into assassination put your points in malice and improved sd murder and then lethality
alright for seal of fate daggers
back to the point were you put a single point into offhand. move to assassination take malice again improved sd and murder as well as lethality, next take ruthlessness and then poisons to 2, take cold blooded ( ta da you now have a 100% crit chance ambush with this ability ) finish of poisons and take RS finally take seal fate.
Hahahaha. I played vanilla. No on your “advice.” But at sixty you will end up in a similar place since i assume you will try to play something close 20/10/30 or a close variant, 22/10/28 something like that.
Imp ambush is especially good in group pvp with clothies running around. Things need to die and fast. I dont care to write a book debating situational usage of abilities, but telling people improved ambush is bad, is wrong. Any rogue playing to rank 10-12 which can be done with a little effort solo, will do fine. Get the AV dagger and you will find out just how many people get half lifed in an instant.
Not saying you cant kill with bleeds and poisons playing melee warlock, you just wont kill me with that garbage or kill more than me acting like this is retail or something. I dueled a hunter for over an hour trying test bleed openers on a kiting class last night. Good luck playing like retail trashassination.
Lets be real here the faster things die the more honor and wins the higher the rank you get. Stun locking isnt that effective beyond cc in this patch, and bleeds dont get really good until the shadowstep buff. If you are going to try to play it you might as well play deep assassination and get the energy increase and forgo prep and do something to get the garrote energy decrease in sub. That would leave you forgoing prep which good luck with that in pvp. At that point i would assume you are going to play hemo swords dold blood evis anyway. 
I really question exactly how much you played a rogue in vanilla if you think that the only way for a rogue to pvp is to have improved ambush.
see your trying to set up a situation were ambush is actually good essentially you’re kinda being a hypocrite
you can’t claim you don’t want to debate the situational usage of abilities then set up the situation were your point is strong. if you can do that people can bring up the situation were its weak. which is a lot of situations because is 3 points into an ability that only be used when stealth.

first off this thread was not really about pvp it was about a rogue wanting to know why they were not ambush critting there target or why ranged attacks were popping them out of vanish at no point did the op talk about pvp. you are the one that first mention pvp by saying that rogues are terrible at it. boy i wish i was on your server just and played alliance just so i could corpse camp the hell out of you for saying that.

You’re nerfing yourself…
Never use daggers leveling, combat all the way with combat swords. Look up weapon progression for rogues, a lot of guides for it. Hell, I am still using trashblade from mara as mainhand because onyxia won’t drop viskag and no luck on brutality blade either.
Even end up dagger builds are horrid for solo play. We haven’t seen perditions / core hound tooth yet either but even if we do, we have 2 dedicated combat dagger rogues so they will get it. I won’t bother going combat daggers unless we have 5th set of PB/CHT drop. Combat swords + hoj + wf is just too damn fun to give up. Daggers hit like wet noodles solo because all you do is hit sinister strike. In raids, it’s a different story.
If you are pvping, just go with a hemo / coldblood setup for leveling… So that way you aren’t nerfing yourself to the ground grinding/questing.
