Okay, this is what my group finder looks like right now (3 shots, put together, but they’re overlapping contents so you can see I didn’t leave anything out.
What am I missing, here?
Well, it’s not a hard request. Not sure why you wouldn’t. Seems like a you problem. I understand that this can be used as a relational key, but it’s Warcraft. It’s not your hub website. Also, you probably already tied other data to make it as easy… Email/address/payment info.
They can also just put a cookie on your computer for every other website you visit to see that you come here.
It’s definitely not instant. Took them 8 days to respond to a ticket about Hyjal being swamped with that sort of activity. Because report wasn’t working.
They don’t ever put it in their titles. It’s in their descriptions.

There are groups that are not but I see about 70% that are WTS.
The question is not why I wouldn’t want to. The question is why would a corporation make their product worse to try and force me to. What is valuable enough to put up barriers between the customer and a purchase?
And you can block third party cookie access. Not that blizzard is a major problem when it comes to the that type of surveillance. That’s google and things like the facebook like button.
can confirm addons that filter a lot of it do a pretty great job

Apparently we all just live in parallel universes. That’s the only explanation I can think of.
Warcraft had a huge hacking problem. And not that accounts were actually getting hacked, but that people kept saying they were getting hacked. So they gave things away to offer more security with things like 2 tier authentication.
A phone number is just another mitigation.
So now they probably answer a lot less “hacked” tickets with players having both an authenticator or phone number.
I’d post the ones I reported, but it might be considered a call out to post them. Even took a screen of their website and sent it to Blizz.
Do you have an addon the clears them out? Did you just report all of them which removes them until you log out and back in?

Not to my knowledge, no.
I never even use group finder, except the button you click to auto-go into it for world bosses.
Does it work well with Premade Group Filter though?
They have, it’s called addon API
Really… because I just reported over 40 of them for advertisement.
I use both without issue

Good thing they crippled the ability for real players to add custom text to real groups via authenticator.
It clearly has worked flawlessly.
Thanks for the suggestion, it works and I love that it says how many adverts it’s blocking, literally over 30 just searching for M+. I still think that they could pay someone minimum wage just to ban this people advertising to Third Party RMT Boosting Sites, I’d apply for that job simply for the satisfaction.
Yeah, it worked for a short while but in the end it was nothing more then a speed bump. I use an addon to filter them out but typically on a busy weekend I can see the addon had blocked 10+ groups that fell into it’s filters.
I would expect it to probably get slightly worse with Group Loot making it even easier to move group to the pay customer. That and I bet we will see server based GDKP runs as well.
