End of the day it’s viewed as a game, and exclusivity is hated fairly universally among more casual crowds, which are the ones that swing development harder than any of us will.
Current devs are not above giving all of that stuff out for 2k if it means $$$. Its important to appreciate what you have, before Blizzard inevitably hands it to the Ret rework 2.0 spec in a year
Something I figured might result in them allowing for old elite sets (among other rewards) to be earned is that if/when Classic fizzles out they allow people to migrate their characters over to retain which would then force them to open up old stuffs.
They’ve been pretty aggressive about adding old unobtainable things in recent times.
I literally said they’d do this at some point and tons laughed at the idea. Even now most of my friend groups think they’ll never do it.
I bet they either flat do it, or do MoP remix for every old xpac and allow it that way.
Yeah, I was floating it at one idea and it keeps seeming more and more likely with the stuff they’ve been up to, but I guess we’ll see.

I think they’re aggressively pushing to make old unobtainables obtainable for certain reasons. Rival to me account wide makes sense the same way hitting 2500 on M+ or Mythic Queen unlocks class mythic glows for all other classes and armor sets.
At this point i wouldn’t mind at all as long as the work is still required to obtain. I dont want them to obviously bring back old season rewards that are already unobtainable IF you weren’t there at all that season but for sure account wide pvp unlocks would be great.
As someone who works quite a few hours and also wants to PvE, it makes it really hard to want to PvP when i want multiple sets and can’t dedicate the time to all of them.
I’m still shocked they haven’t brought back the Black Qiraji Battle Tank, Corrupted Ashbringer, or Atiesh
I’m old now, but I just don’t even care. After seeing glad get reduced to what it is, people get to freely abuse bugs to it, re works happening mid season for 10.1.5 ret.
They just don’t care, and they do not care that we care, so caring at all seems useless atp. Makes me appreciate that I did it all before the changes.

A mount is already rewarded in pvp just like m+.
Elite sets are for those who put the work on said class said season (if you consider it no work or “free” then go get them on all the toons you want )

I really wish they’d just recolor some of the older elites & make new material while adding it as a 3s exclusive reward then move the seasonal elite to the other brackets to shift up some of the rewards to promote qing other brackets instead of the path of least resistance but hey a man can dream.

I mean, there is a bit of irony in pvp vs pve there though. I raided fairly high US at least, nothing compared to like, Remi prime, but fairly high.
It was always weird to me that people could walk back in to Heroic / Mythic raids after the expac and get the same mounts that my raid team slaved 500 pulls away for. Back in the day it wasn’t even raid wide mount drops, you had to kill it 25 weeks in a row to get everyone a mount.
Yet people could wait a few months, or a year and then walk in and 1 shot all of it, get the mog and mounts they never worked for, but then would get SUPER mad if anyone ever said pvp should be the same.
That’s why raiding was always boring for me. Unless it’s super fun now can always just afk and get the goodies later.
I always believed that mythic sets/mounts should be locked after a tier.
They need to bring back cmodes & add new sets/weps imo.
I feel like a tertiary color of the current mythic tier for doing mid-high level keys are sort of a cm like reward would be cool. Right now it’s freebie ksm, freebie ksh/portals then a giant rift of difficulty for title.
Either armored ksm mount or recolored mythic set. Idk.
Why would you get Mythic glows on armor sets for other classes other than a Mage if you play a mage?
It comes down to an unavoidable clash and difference in school of thought on rewards.
Yes i compars PvE and PvP because i think they should reward equally because i like both. Why would PvP and PvE have to be kept separately. If I’m pushing M+ timed for endgame cosmetics, I’m not pushing it on multiple toons because there’s tons of effort required and I’m not going to do it 5 times.
PvP on the other hand requires you to put in that same effort, but push on multiple different characters, but then the Weapon illusion and mounts are account wide but not the armor like KSH?
Not saying your school of thought is wrong but unfortunately this isn’t a black and white argument. In some aspects i completely agree with you. I earned my priest, death knight, warrior, warlock elite sets all on my own and want them to remain special, but it also ate up a ton of my time and would love to just play the class i love and push even further than i normally do because im stuck farming elite and learning new classes over and over and trying to master them.
