Vaguely? I mean, if you stretch it a bit and change the tone of the conversation, sure, we can say that’s what happened. I think instead of playing an MMORPG and asking for all of the MMORPG elements to be stripped from said MMORPG, maybe people should just find a non-MMORPG?
What does this have to do with what you were trying to communicate before though?
Idk. The post was pretty good. I started in 8.2. Spent 4 months playing before 8.3 released.
I had fun BUT, I realized early on azerite gear acquisition was dumb, not being able to equip essences because of AP even though I had them was dumb, nazjatar timegated by that stupid follower quest really irritated me.
Catching up gear wise was pretty painless with mythic plus and the loot drop rates. I really liked grinding gear. Only thing I actually liked to do. It was everything else that was a drag.
Forget about alts in 8.2. Well, alternate mains is what I was looking to have. Quickly realized that’s not how the game is developed.
It took till the end of 8.2 to have a real solid grasp on the game and it’s systems.
8.3 cloak requiring horrific visions, rng corruption gear that turned into a vendor with a rotation, the assaults required just to do the visions, etc.
I can’t leave out how quickly I realized meta was a thing. I mained boomie in 8.2. I had to heal mostly just to advance in key levels.
Honestly, looking back, the biggest motivation killer was the community and the gatekeeping.
The systems were new and fresh enough they werent too much of a problem. Like I said above, about 4 months into the game and the systems became a huge drag. Then you want to play alts and have to do it all over again. No thanks.
Not what timegating means. Timegating is when something is locked behind an unskippable waiting period. Proper terminology is important when presenting an argument.
There is too much grinding required and too many systems to keep up with to be competitive and that I agree with.
What the, you gear from day one not when you get to 60 unless you boosting but that defeats the purpose of the game.
Yes,the game is timegated in many ways after all these years it is known to be that way. If they are new they would’ve known that from the beginning. There’s a reason for it especially with world first ,removing timegating would make those doing the achievement work harder to gear up than doing the dungeons and raids. More work is something no one wants.
I think there’s important topics asked by [Prosident] , however since he was removed from the CC , i don’t know if Devs will address those threads, Could you consider do some of those topics again or check if this are still valid?
He did like 13 post, some are relevant and since he did those, nobody else comments on those topics again, i think those could be dead Threads just because those were created by that player.
Blizzard could have deleted the Threads but those are still there, that’s why i’ve that concern and maybe other council members think that those are already cover when those are being ignored.
No one has responded to Worldpvp’s post in 7 hours. If that doesn’t prove how pointless the community council is, or how dead this community is, I don’t know what does. Microsoft cannot fix that level of apathy.
The post is fine and brings up a very valid problem.
See it my guild all the time. Players come back to the game late in an expansion with no knowledge of anything. So much to learn and no help from a main to speed things up. You include them in group activities and they’re not going to feel good about being the carry and other people aren’t going to like being held back by the new player that hasn’t had a year to learn all the mechanics and is pulling less DPS than a tank.
Personally I think the fix is production. If they want perpetually subbed players they need to get quality content to market faster, not dilute it with all these tactics to stretch out the shelf life of a patch. The root cause of almost all these problems goes back to trying to stretch the content.
From what I saw, Worldpvp was being respectful and just giving his opinion on the game. They don’t have to agree with him. There should be no fear in having a real discussion. If the community council is going to work, there has to be an open forum where people are allowed to express their ideas and opinions. If it becomes this charade of , “you can ask questions, but only so long as we approve”, then the project is just a complete wasted of time.
Just seems like a well known/talked topic being squeezed for attention, the thread will be ignored because it isn’t news to anybody. There is no discussion to be had.
The catch up mechanics need to be better, the game needs to be more alt friendly, more player power mechanics need to be account wide, real pvp needs less ilvl discrepancy
Member how the WotLK rep was largely worthless? and optional? And the rep that wasn’t, Sons of Hodir, had no tabard and was gated behind quests & dailies and rare pickup items?
thats the devs for you. they never learn and always just assume that we will remain loyal as if there isn’t any other games to play even if its not an mmorpg.
No. I don’t. I remember that crafting items most people wanted were at exalted for many of them, and I only ever eventually did the Sons of Hodir rep for the mount.
