I played a Havoc DH in Legion for Nighthold and got Heroic curve, and I played a Havoc DH in 8.3 up to ilvl 450ish, mostly just to grind out flying since I quit BFA when Classic came out. I’m certainly not a master of the spec, but I am familiar with it, at least in a PvE sense.
To me the spec just feels boring.
I hope they don’t completely dumpster DH’s, they’re an iconic Warcraft class and they deserve to be done right. I believe the spec needs some weaknesses built into it, to allow it to have some really powerful strengths. DH’s should do crazy damage. DH’s should being exceptionally mobile.
DH’s should probably not also have a medium range kick that generates their resource on the same CD as a warrior or rogue, who has to be melee and gets no resource for it. DH’s should probably not also have an AOE stun, two defensive CD’s, and a manaburn in PVP.
Re-roll probably to the next FOTM class like always. I’m sure that a good amount of DHs now will continue to play the class regardless so they are happy to get rid of the FOTM crowd that bandwagoned on it just to be OP.
Taking that DH nerf pretty tough, are we not? It will be ok. Players who mained baby mode DH and dominated content will learn how to be average again as another class.
Or, they will just find the next op FOTM class, as usual.
No, it’s a terrible playstyle and extremely unreliable with the netcode. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve dashed or rolled where it makes you zoom 200 yards away. This still happens a ton today. Plus, dash is still notorious for disconnects due to floating point precision and the anticheat engine thinking you’re trying to hack the player’s position.
Oh and on bosses, it makes it a nightmare if there’s lots of important AoE mechanics and puddles to avoid. Simply put, keep that kind of playstyle for PvP and world content only.
I knew this thread was going to have toxic idiots in it, but good God… So many people whining about Demon Hunters without knowing a single thing about them.
Relax man, DHS will still be strong single target dps as they have been since their inception. The changes are not groundbreaking and are not major. If you want to talk about major nerfs you can go back to expansions and see major gutting of classes that were really bad. Ret pally comes to mind back in WOTLK in 4.0 when they removed instant damage and added crusader damage that was a build up damage mechanic and other major changes. That was horrible, the changes DHs got now are just minor 1 sec changes and aoe changes that all classes got across the board.
Same here. It doesn’t seem to be the doom and gloom both sides want to portray it as.
Crazy because unholy is actually nothing special lol. They aren’t even in the same universe as BM.
This makes me so happy to read. I can’t believe it took Blizzard this long to finally bring DH’s back to earth with the rest of us. No longer will they be able to do the best dps and best self sustain in the game while also being the easiest class to play. If anything, they deserve so so so much worse.
I only hope that going forward we see less and less of them as the game continues…overall very happy with these choices that Blizzard has made. Much better for the overall health of the game. If only they could of done it sooner. Thank God Blizzard is actually paying attention to its player base when it comes to DH’s.
Yeah those Demon Hunters sitting at dead center middle of the pack in DPS are really overpowered. And that SINGLE Demon Hunter sitting in 3’s in the top 100 is doing a bang up job of representing Demon Hunters in PvP.
Especially when the Class, since its inception, has been forced to rely on borrowed power.
Do the right thing Blizz & BUFF DH in Shadowlands!
Honestly, what’s going to be hilarious is when all these people whining about DH’s still get beat by them even after the heavy nerfs. Tears will continue to be shed!
It wont be as bad as it looks, once soulbinds and stuff kick in…we’ll be back up in dps.
DHs are a product of lazy devs. Now before some of you absolute morons go hur hur DH OP. I’m not talking raw numbers, but ability synergies and rotation choice. DHs have a severe lack of it and without borrowed power play slower than my grandma would. Numbers can be fixed, numbers can be buffed or rebuffed. The class design is what’s flawed, talents should enchant gameplay choices and play styles not bandaid poor base design…same with any “borrowed power”
dks still get dunked on by the community and it’s been 10 years
You realize that numbers tuning isn’t anywhere close to finished, right?
Good. Nerf DH.
Blizzes one good DPS spec, instead of buffing and balancing classes to get to the level of DH, they nerf them down to the others. Perfect logic Ion, god do I hate you man
I’m aware. Doesn’t change what they’ve done to the spec.
Honestly I think they need to have bigger nerfs, they didn’t lower the damage values enough. DH is too over used and takes little skill to play. Does too much passive aoe damage.
I remember the massive dk nerfs after wrath and the massive monk nerfs later on. This was expected
