Blizzard’s entire design philosophy is based around creating FOMO
On the one hand, dangit.
On the other hand, good! Crusader shouldn’t have been the strat anyway.
On the third hand, gosh darn it. There go my ret and sub runs.
Good. Crusader Enchant was dumb. Strength characters would auto-win just about any Mage Tower fight because you simply couldn’t die unless you were 1-shot.
There’s a room for strong loot, and then there’s “this item invalidates the challenge”.
I still have to do Mage Tower on my DK and I may have to actually try (which is a good thing), unlike my Warrior and Pally who had near auto-wins.
That was a joke. LOL
Thallia you forgot to add a gif
In fairness, speaking as a bad, those of us who did wait to outgear it in Legion were encouraged by Blizzard to do just that. It was a limited time event that you could eventually outgear and get done pretty easily before it goes away forever. That was the party line then and it’s what we did! This version they have now is way harder than the Tauren worm combo I killed pretty easily!
100%, been arguing that from the start. Even better would’ve been templates with your class/spec how it was in Legion with your choice of what stats you want, and the choice of at least one legendary.
Most old enchants have been completely gutted and are of no use to anyone. “Gives 0 stat for 0 seconds” is what you read in the tooltip now. Clearly they’re in the process of eliminating enchanting altogether. They’ll replace it with a new system that requires long grinds through multiple types of content to acquire fragments of patterns and different currencies and mats you will use to craft your own “enchants”. You’ll have to use tokens to pay for the vendor mats. And just to make sure, they’ll delete the enchants at the end of each patch so you’ll have to regrind the whole thing again.
Well at least I don’t need to farm that enchant but still sucks cause I could of made quite a bit if I finally farmed it lol… I’m still surprised [and not at the same time] that they are staying on course with the current wonky tuning of the encounters.
Noo God Nooo nooo noooo…
They shouldn’t seek to nerf old enchants because, at least for current content, enchanting makes no gold anymore anyway. There are no legendaries that enchanters can make, the number of slots you can enchant is probably not even half of what it was before WoD, people also get upgrades less frequently than they did in past expansions so they aren’t buying as much, etc. The only way to make gold from enchanting anymore is to sell stuff to twinks and people trying to beat the Mage Tower.
In the case of Crusader, it was kind of OP anyway so whatever, but I hope they’re not conducting some type of review of all old enchants to see which ones they want to nerf into the ground
That actually does sound like something Blizzard would do. They are that out of touch, or do actually hate the players.
I don’t see why 86%/14% reduction is necessary (Not that I’m surprised by it). Could’ve made it just a little bit less rather than make it completely useless.
I don’t think so… I think Crusader has just had too much spotlight lately. It got nerfed in the middle of Mage Tower already (if I remember correctly), and it was pretty much dominating low level PvP from what a lot of people have said… and you know it has to be a real problem for them to address something in low lvl PvP!
I think other enchants should be fine.
It heals you to full HP every 15 seconds. It was absolutely insane.
That’s the problem with evergreen content in WoW compared to other games, WoW has a ton of trinkets and effects, However i really like the idea of evergreen content
I know what it did, I’m just saying don’t make it absolutely useless. Make it comparable to other options or reduce the healing in pvp more than pve.
Yes, it allowed players to cheese Mage Tower for a respected appearance.
And then, become un killable gods in low level PVP for months with a free lay on hands.
Which was close to making these brackets unplayable for those who understood what was happening.
Great adjustment, very happy to see it.
Thanks again!
agreed.
but if the devs each had their own brains and not sharing one between them, it might of been something like this: upon zoning into mage tower, each player is auto equipped with a set of green gear that cannot accept any enchants. then the player must rely on skill only, especially since all gear for all players will be normalized.
I can only imagine how bad it would be if the devs tried to use templates…
