they swing nightfall
Not really- casters and healers are using demo runes/dark runes/major mana pots every 2 min on boss fights. Just a dark rune/mana pot combo is about 8g. 54s a minute is really nothing.
Prot Pallies find a way to overcome the shortcomings built into the spec, and a Druid gets jealous. How weird.
I love reading the argument of this doesnāt work without excessive class stacking.
Meanwhile people will argue at you to only bring fury warriors for dps and one of every other class for the buff.
So by this standard guess Iāll tank very well while I Gbok the 20 warriors
Prot Paladins also have to use those.
Do Mages have to spend money to cast Frostbolt so they can do DPS?
Pointing out flaws in the spec is not jealousy. With a gimmick, you are able to overcome one shortcoming of several.
Find a single person saying that. I bet you canāt.
Pointing out that Fury Warrior is the best DPS isnāt the same as arguing that you only bring Fury Warriors.
If it cost that little to outDPS a warrior, your damn right they would.
Thatās not what I asked, buddy. Try again.
Well rejoice, because you donāt have to use the reagents to tank as a prot pally- itās about maximizing your potential, as all other consumables are. If you donāt care about it, then just donāt use it, be substandard.
You can still create threat without spamming it, just like any dps can do damage without using consumables. You just do more if youāre willing to put a bit of money into it- and in this case, a lot more threat for a very small amount of gold.
I donāt get why youāre whining though- if you donāt want to use consumables to perform better, just donāt, stay mediocre, nobody will notice or care.
Iām not sure what sort of damage the DPS in your raids are putting out, but if the majority of your TPS is coming from applying Blessings and still canāt manage to generate more TPS than a Feral Druid, suddenly not doing this means youāre not going to hold aggro.
Without a taunt, and without the TPS this generates, you wonāt be doing much actual tanking as a Prot Paladin.
Using Prot Paladin in any capacity is being substandard, though.
And by not using it every GCD, you are lowering your TPS.
Your reading comprehension is beyond terrible.
Try actually reading through the thread, and my posts especially, to see what my actual criticisms were, because having to use consumables was never one of them.
Says the level 18 advocating for Prot Paladin tanking.
Exactly, wasting a raid spot.
you seem mad friend
Why is bringing a holy paladin a waste of a raid slot? you can be 31/14/0 and do this strat, you can also be 30/21 and do this strat an also bring Sanc and imp Con.Aura.
Why does everyone keep talking about 31 point Prot paladins when nothing this build does requires anything but easy side talents for the best support class in the game?
Except the gear youād be wearing would make you utterly useless as a healer, or utterly useless as a tank, depending on which set you wore.
And if you were going to be a Holy Paladin, why not just heal?
So, I didnāt think I would have to say this. Iām not saying bring the person with this spec to tank the raid. Iām saying if you want to abuse this mechanic PUT on your tank gear and do it for said fight.
Pretty sure you have said this yourself that prot paladins are horrible off tanks an I agree from some stand points. Warriors in general bring 0 unque buffs dependent on spec so dps warriors can fill their debuffing buffing roles, Druids at least have leader of the pack. Paladins regardless of spec are bringing useful blessings and auras.
Use the mechanic on the fights you want to, and when you dont want to use it, go be the best/ one of the best healer/supports in the game.
Except you are saying to have the person with that spec tank some fights. If theyāre Holy, they should just heal.
Why would you be having one of your healers put on tank gear and having them hold aggro by spamming Blessings instead of either, A) bring someone who was dedicated to doing that, or B) just having them heal and using a different player as the tank for that job?
Sure, a healer could manage to hold aggro, but theyād lack the mitigation and other threat/DPS tools that Protection has. Taking the worst tank spec in the game and stripping away anything that makes it even remotely viable seems like a pretty dumb strategy.
This means paladins can judge mana during longer fights and still maintain threat.
If I recall correctly, this was always the case - paladins never really had threat issues, so long as they had mana. Some of the more open-minded guilds used paladin tanks in raids (probably mostly for trash) with great success.
Iām not talking about the spec, Iām talking about the role. A raid brings enough healers, bringing an extra healer that can OT is not beneficial to the raid and will only slow things down. A fury warrior on the other hand can dps when not OTing and help kill the boss fasterā¦a holy/prot pal is only going to contribute to the raids overhealing.
I expected nothing less from your reply, keep on contributing uselessness to the conversation my friend.
Which is it guys are we stacking 30 Fury warriors/locks and playing optimally in every respect to the raid, or are we playing the real game where you canāt do that an your tanks arenāt perfect and yes you might have 8 healers and you might have 11 healers and one of those healer is going to want blessing of sanctuary anyways. Hell Holy shock is a god damn joke, you can be 20/31 no one in your raid is going to be like " This guy is missing 5% crit on heals /gkick !!! oh an holyshock"
Srs which god damn discussion are we having at this point! What mitigation are you missing out on by not going deeper in prot ? Holy shield? Pretty weak in respect to aoe tanking which is the biggest strength of this trick. Are we expecting a 440 capped paladin? What in gods name are you arguing for or against. There is 0 down side to having this added to paladins, there may never be a use for it ever. Which is the exact case for full prot warriors once fury prot is geared enough. Are prot warriors now trash?
well Iām not the one whoās angry at other people for how they play a 15 year old video game rereleaseā¦so yeaā¦
You and yours are the only ones that get angry, like the poster above you. Iāve never lost my cool or yelled or even got upset. I have a raid spot and donāt need to do mathematical judo or rely on janky mechanics to try and make my class work at the role I am trying to perform.
You do you though. I am merely here explaining why you all are wrong, and why nobody is doing this stuff that you purport is possible.
