I prefer a proactive ability to cause as much pain and difficulty to these companies as I can.
And yet wouldnât prevent someone from continuing to violate the TOS, and in the case of gold spamming in a very bad way.
RCR does that.

Thatâs fair. But to say there was no way to stop it (not you specifically) without RCR is flagrantly false.
And yet wouldnât prevent someone from continuing to violate the TOS, and in the case of gold spamming in a very bad way.
Again, you could report people BEFORE RCR became a thing.

Except that before RCR gold seller spam was not stopped effectively.

Which didnât work.
Fateweaver: Eloraell:That wouldnât have any effect on getting the account banned
It would prevent you from seeing the spam though. Which was a concern brought up earlier.

RCR could still do that with an âillegal servicesâ option tied to an auto squelch, while leaving the other options tied to a flag for manual review with an escalating priority based upon the number of reports recieved. They could even leave them tied to an auto squelch with a significantly higher target number of reports required to trigger that auto squelch.
That is not enough for those who want the powerful impose their own brand of vigilante justice, though.

Opening a GM ticket does the same thing, without creating systems that are easily abused. It isnât the playersâ place to enforce TOS, no more than it is my place as a private citizen in no way connected to law enforcement to write someone a ticket when they are double-parked. Call it in, and let the people who actually have that responsibility deal with it.

One RCR cannot squelch someone.
Which didnât work.

What does RCR do that manual reporting doesnât with regard to notifying Blizz about a ToS violation?
Last I checked, the second R stood for Report.

RCR squelches the offender without blizzard taking days to maybe look at the report.
One report may not, but do we know what the number required is?
If it as few as 10, Johnny and his cronies could likely easily reach that number.

Reacts automatically to squelch offenders.

The overly dramatic hand wringing pearl clutching is really not helping your case.

Who cares if it takes them a few days to look at the report? If you have reported them, youâve done your part. And if you put them on /ignore, you no longer have to see them, so it is no longer your problem. What happened to you to make you so desperate to punish other people as quickly as possible?

You mean beyond including the chat log of what was reported, time stamp, etc?

Now now, Fate, that requires at least 20 seconds, and use of copy/paste. Thatâs far too much trouble for the keyboard vigilantes to go through.
Why would I do that when I could just rcr and have it automatically logged?
