You literally offended large swaths of players. How on earth do you imagine that is not a violation?
You got a source for that? I find that hard to believe. If that was the case half the people on EU would be banned or silenced, they have a way bigger issue with this than us with the over 6 different languages spoken in the region all with their own servers
Idun: Fateweaver: Ziryus:You knew you were going to annoy a chunk of people by hating on their servers in LFG.
Being annoyed is not cause to report someone. You know this. No rules were violated.
Actually, Blizzard has said you cannot put âNo BR serversâ or the like in LFG descriptions. They even broke and add-on that would let you block specific servers.

It was a big deal a few months before the new forums were rolled out, IIRC. The addon was called Noobblocker, something like that.
But no source or official Blizzard statement?
Iâm not saying that Blizzard did not say what you claim they said, but it is up to you to substantiate that claim.
Ziryus: Fesz: Ziryus: Hafez: Ziryus: Hafez:Trolling? Because I want to be with players who speak the same language as me and donât come from servers with reputations for ruining groups? Forget the ruining groups even, the language part is the main reason I did it really. I only know English and Arabic, not Spanish. If it was low level content I wouldnât care.
Thereâs nothing âbadâ or âtrollingâ about wanting to play with players you can actually communicate with.
And your squelch got lifted, whatâs the problem?
Ah, so basically youâre admitting everything you said was wrong. Excellent.
Not really, you apparently got reported because you were trying to exclude certain servers because you just donât like them. That is indeed reportable. Blizzard just didnât give you a longer punishment.
Blizzard detetmined that he committed no violation.
Therefore, the players that reported him did so falsely.
IMO, they should be harshly punished for filing false reports.
They were, their silence was over turned
What happened to those players that falsely reported him?
Were they punished for filing those false reports? We donât know.
IMO, those players that falsely reported him should have bern harshly punished.
Why should anything have happened to them? They acted in good faith and reported something that they thought was against the rules.

Blizzard determined that he committed no violation. Therefore those reports were falsely filed.

They didnât file false reports, they reported something they thought was agains the TOS.
People that file false reports should be punished, but this isnât a case of that.

A report is either factual or false. A player is either guilty of a violation or he is innocent.
A report leading to a squelch that is subsequently overturned is false since there was no actual violation committed.
IMO, what we have is some players wanting the power to collude to squelch any other player for any reason at any time, while avoiding any repercussions for the abuse of the system by trying to hide in âgrey areasâ.

Iâm not saying that Blizzard did not say what you claim they said, but it is up to you to substantiate that claim.
I canât get the old read-only forums to cough up blue posts at all. Iâm asking in the (current) CS forum.

Well, IMO, until you can provide an official Blizzard statement to substantiate your claim, that is all it isâan unsubstantiated claim and not verified fact.
Well said. Thatâs exactly it.
Itâs the main reason I donât want this in Classic. If some guild decides they donât want your guild to progress for example they can just right click report your main tank or your raid lead into a squelch, and since it takes several hours, sometimes a day or two to get a GM response to overturn it, that can seriously mess things up for them.
Right click report is a lazy and terrible system to save money on actual customer service and real people (GMâs and moderators) to handle these problems.
You literally offended large swaths of players.
No, he excluded large swathes of people from the group he was forming. There is nothing wrong with what he did. Itâs no different than excluding those that donât have certain achievements or gear scores.
Right click report is a lazy and terrible system to save money on actual customer service and real people (GMâs and moderators) to handle these problems.
Why do you think this cuts down on the real people required for Blizzard CS? Remove the auto-squelch and just as many GMs have to exist to answer the reports. The auto-squelch is temporary until a GM can get to the ticket.

Well no a report is just someone stating they think something is a violation.
Well no a report is just someone stating they think something is a violation.
And that report is either upheld, in which case it was warranted, or overturned, in which case it was unwarranted or filed falsely.
It wont aid in recreating the vanilla experience.
It will on an RP server. And itâll speed it up.
Ziryus:Well no a report is just someone stating they think something is a violation.
And that report is either upheld, in which case it was warranted, or overturned, in which case it was unwarranted or filed falsely.
Well once again no, blizzard not upholding it doesnât mean it was filed falsely, any more than a report filed before RCR that doesnât get actioned was filed falsely.
It just means that someone filed a legitimate report that blizzard didnât think needed further response.
Or that someone was trying to abuse the system and hide in a grey area to avoid any consequences for their abuse of the system.
Once again, either an actual violation was committed, in which case reports are warranted, or there was no violation committed, in which case reports are unwarranted or filed falsely.
Well once again no, as with most things that are subjective what one person thinks is a violation and reports might not be the same for another person.
That doesnât mean the person who reported was in any way acting in bad faith.
And this is a case in point, the guy was specifically targeting specific servers as not worthy of his group. Shocking that people on those servers might objectâŚ
I wonder if this topic will still be ongoing after Classic launches. Either way, weâre getting the right-click report system fully intact and I couldnât be more glad.
Woohoo! RCR FTW! No Gold Seller spam in my Classic WoW!
