That’s over 6 years where it’s seen niche usefulness at best. Compare ranged SV in the 6 years following WotLK’s release; routinely a solid, capable, and widely used option for most areas of the game the entire time.

Going melee is a far bigger sacrifice than having a mobility restriction for Hunters. It doesn’t compare. It’s giving up the bread and butter of what makes the class work.

It’s not worth bribing people to play melee SV.

When I think of ranged SV’s adaptability, I think of this fight.

Looks like you just miss gapping people on the damage meter. It was boring in pve, and this video just reminds me how happy I am its not like that anymore.

I wouldn’t call it polished. It still has that “kitchen sink” feeling of random stuff thrown together and the melee aspects come across as tacked-on just for tokenistic uniqueness.

It’s not an advantage related to being melee. Especially when it came from a ranged ability that’s a poor fit for a melee spec to begin with.

You’re not going to successfully prove that ranged SV was not versatile via hypotheticals because we had years and years of ranged SV being a broadly applicable and useful spec to show that it was versatile.

RSV was so good at half magic. It vanished. unfortunately the second part of the trick never happend and it was lost to the history pages.

The fact that this is a melee meta and Survival is still such a poor choice for both M+ and raid should tell you that the spec is especially bad.

MM has the same level of “multidotting” and it’s absolutely minimal.

If you want dots play a warlock. That’s the logic you use when people say they enjoy SV. You tell them to play a warrior. So you must agree with this logic yes?

That’s the only valid way to look at it because you start at level 1 with a ranged weapon and ranged gameplay. So you are in fact a ranged class that can spec out of being ranged. Absolute nonsense.

You keep using this and its so comical who gives a rats bottom. Shamans don’t start off with lava burst. Doesn’t mean lava burst doesn’t fit the class. Are you sad RSV is gone? You seem a little Beppled

and even then it depends on preferential tuning to be better than the ranged specs.

Just like the tuning between frost fire and arcane? got it. So normal. You know RSV’s damage would be based on its tuning as well right? Good thing its gone and we dont have to spend too much brain power thinking about a relic.

This is an extremely minor selling point in the grand scheme of things. Again, it’s limited to a very small area in the game not many engage in to begin with.

Just because its a smaller community doesn’t mean they don’t deserve shiny things too! Look at this shiny polearm.

I know it’s hard for melee brains to fathom but ranged specs can fight in melee as well.

Lul try face tanking someone in melee as MM let me know how it goes.
