Reviving World PVP - RP

We both know the warfront phasing will never go away. Especially not when they added the Bronze Dragon Phasing NPC to both zones.

I’d love to participate. I used to always be on warmode, but it’s just impossible to do the current world content with it on. Nobody plays on warmode so I can’t get those objectives completed. When I’m not doing a dreamsurge/time rift/etc, I try to be on warmode.

Adding RP to the mix makes it so much more fun.

That’s the spirit I like to heard, I have been on a search and have been reaching out to other alliance guilds to begin to get the ball rolling. With Dragonflight riding mechanics as well, aerial battles of knocking each other off, then finishing the kill sounds dope!

Why dont you guys make an Alliance guild for this to fight against?
But yet skip the middle man and just go to a free for all WM quest zone, no factions needed.

personally, i want to fight Alliance, not fight as alliance

I would recommend just going into war mode but honestly anytime I’m in it i never even see any one. I don’t know what else to add here.

im always in warmode, but thats good for getting swarmed by MG-A

Wait for 10.2

Same. But let’s talk about how in BFA and “maybe” Shadowlands war-mode was something even and nowadays MG-A’s warmode population is dwarfing most servers combined factions. Was this an overnight thing?

Sad how warmode deleted Emerald Dream server.

WPvP was never really going to recover from its hospice, which was the day they introduced cross-realm activity.

They didn’t need sparks or whatever to incentivize WPvP. Egos and reputation were sufficient stake. It was the same guilds attacking your cities, it was the same healers making that WG or TB base impossible to capture. The same gankers. There was a degree of politicking between guilds, some policed their griefers and some enabled them but everyone had their part in a broader culture. You still see people talk about Against All Odds, Ephie, etc. because the whole thing was a legitimate community.

Now, you turn on WM, and 1 in 10 people you see are from WrA. You might still see familiar faces or guilds but under the crushing weight of a megacluster full of strangers, who cares. Dying to some MG squad for sparks is as impersonal as dying in the zerg of an epic BG.

There are guilds still doing it. I’m part of one because it’s what I always enjoyed. But it’ll never have that magic again. Just like you won’t see regular duels in front of Org or the PvP building in Valdrakken. The game doesn’t have the social infrastructure anymore.

The exception is preplanned events, which I think have potential. There’s a lot of people who still want WPvP to be a thing and if someone were willing to facilitate a larger, ongoing event series it could take off. So hopefully we see some more of that in the future.

Sounds like WRA needs more Horde for war mode. Might make that move then

even if we had more Horde, wed all be on different shards

Is this the issue with WM? I thought shards did not affect RP servers, or did they change that?
Btw do you have a Worgen DK? I think we played in a BG together

there are many shards out in WM. the areas i think that are not affected are probably the home cities and ToA spaces

nope, no worgen, but Mordekeiser is a good name

If you’re going to do RP-PvP events, they probably won’t be in warmode. The chances of one group finding the other with the phasing issue isn’t 100%. You’d be better off skipping warmode altogether and just flagging up in a neutral location.

You could also make PvP alts in Classic if you’re feeling spicy and duke it out there.

Let me plant by Forsaken banner on a corpse covered battlefield. I just need an enemy.

I also enjoy Epic PvP Pet Battles.

Old world does not have the same sharding issues and are perfect for RP-PVP events. We held many war mode events in outlands and other areas like the blasted lands without any issue at all.

Highly recommend giving it a go.
