Hello, I left the game a year ago, and my Ret Pally is 80, having done some raiding. I plan on playing Midnight and want to take my paladin up there. However, I am thinking that maybe I shd reroll as frankly I barely remember how to play. What do you guys think? Also, is Ret Pally currently in a good place? Maybe I shd start tanking or healing. Any advice is appreciated.

Ret Pally feels good to play and is in a decent spot right now. Currently, Prot Pally is okay but is struggling in midnight feeling a little squishy. I haven’t tested Holy, so I can’t say much there. You’re always welcome to test your Paladin out on the PTR it’s currently updated to the class squish.

Ret Pally right now is pretty darn good. I made the switch from Templar over to Herald and it’s pretty damn fun, I got to admit. Biggest piece of advice I can give you is this. Don’t even bother using Icy Veins or Wowhead when building. I wouldn’t even bother trying to get any higher than +7 in Mythic+. Find out what you like and play it. Its all gonna change anyway when Midnight releases. You’ll have people telling you this and that. Pay it no mind. If you are returning now, just have only DBM and Details for your addons and roll with it. Enable Cooldown Manager. Go out and have some fun for the next couple months.

In 8 days most specs are going to be reworked and simplified. I think you should keep your existing paladin and learn from the ground up next week, unless you want a different race or just enjoy the leveling process.

Ret is fun but I could never main it personally. The ultimate queue simulator for pugging.
As a ret main since TBC I am biased, but I say stick with it! xD
I have never enjoyed a class fantasy more than Paladin. We are in a good spot, and are not being dumpstered in Midnight (at least for PvP which is what I enjoy)…we have a phenomenal Class Order Hall and the lore around us is solid. Watch the Midnight trailer again and get hyped for the Light being front and center in the next expansion
