Returning Player Falsely Banned After Reporting a Suspected Bot — Please Help Me Get a Manual Review

Hello Blizzard Support / Forum Moderators,

I am a returning World of Warcraft player, and I am asking for help because I believe my account was falsely banned after I reported a suspected bot.

I recently came back to WoW and created a new account to play on the Hardcore server. I spent about 7 days leveling my character completely by hand and reached level 41 through normal questing and gameplay. I did not use any bot, automation, hack, third-party software, or anything against the rules.

A few days ago, I reported a suspicious player:

Suspected character: Manahlis
Realm: Doomhowl
Race/Class: Night Elf Hunter
Behavior observed: repeated movement route, no response, constant grinding, and leveling from around 38 to 46 in a very short time.

I discussed this suspected botting behavior in world chat and also reported it because I wanted to help keep the Hardcore server fair. However, shortly after that, I received an email saying my account was permanently closed due to multiple player reports.

I strongly believe I may have been retaliatory mass-reported by accounts connected to the suspected bot user after they saw my messages in world chat.

I am not asking anyone to believe me only based on words. I sincerely ask Blizzard to manually review my account data, including my movement logs, gameplay behavior, leveling route, chat records, report history, and account activity. I have nothing to hide.

If I truly violated any rule, I will accept responsibility. But I strongly believe this is a false ban caused by retaliatory reports after I tried to report a real suspicious botting player.

I already submitted an appeal ticket.

Moderators, if possible, please help guide this case to the proper support team for a real manual review. I love World of Warcraft and only wanted to play Hardcore fairly. It is heartbreaking to be banned after trying to report suspicious behavior.

Edit your post and move it to the Customer Support forum. There are no GMs anywhere on the forums, but that subforum has Blizzard employees who can sometimes provide more information.

You can move your post just by editing it, and changing the chosen forum.

Also, remove the character name you reported from your post. There is a “no name and shame” rule on the forums, and naming a character you accuse of bad behavior can get you a forum ban as well.

I don’t know, but I am guessing - just guessing - your in-game ban was because you “discussed this suspected botting behavior in world chat”, which is an in-game version of name-and-shame being forbidden.
