_ any "expansion license " attached to the account in the past will receive the Shadowlands Base Edition and a Level 50 Character Boost FREE (no purchase necessary)._
Always been free trial accounts do not count?
This account has Cat - Shadow lands. My other account only has ever had a free to play, but only sub time added on it and not a expansion.
This is truely a bring back the accounts from BFA and before the just sub time.
Welcome back and enjoy the free gifts .
It depends. Usually it is around launch time. I have not tracked exactly when it happens for each one.
It will eventually be free for everybody as part of the base game (and sub). I just donāt know when that will be.
This offer seems to be the free + boost for older Bnet accounts with an expansion of some sort on it already. Similar to the old Scroll of Resurrection that had a boost (only that also had a server transfer).
No. The Battlenet account already has SL on it so you canāt get it for more licenses under that Bnet account.
Battle.net accounts without a previous expansion license attached on any of their WoW game accounts, or which already have Shadowlands on any of their game accounts, are NOT eligible to receive a free copy of Shadowlands.
Didnāt you guys get your fancy mounts (Lucky Yun, Nethergorged Great Wyrm, Sapphire Skyblazer, Slyverian Dreamer) for opting in on 6 month subs all this expansion?
Blizz didnāt have to offer those as part of your purchase of game time. They were free cookies to keep you playing. The people getting the free expansion will not have the mounts; and if they want them will have to pop extra $ in the store to get them. So overall, if we say each of those mounts cost $15 a piece x 5-6 mounts this expansion we got $75-90 worth of digital merchandise. Thatās well over the retail value of SL and a boost.
Well that was some happiness whiplash from me, bah. My primary account has Shadowlands, but I saw this post and was immediately excited to upgrade my second accountā¦and just as soon as that I find out itās not eligible. =(
Thanks for the clarification, even if it clearly makes me and a bunch of other players disappointed.
Right. Around launch time. Weāre probably sitting 3 months from the next expansion - plenty of time to do pretty much everything this expansion had to offer, and do it for free. Makes me wish Iād just never bought this expansion to begin with and just waited until now. Thatās what I was getting at.
Ah, well if that is what you want to do for DF, then you can hope they make a similar offer. Three months is not a lot of time to complete an expansion in my opinion but not like you have to stop doing it once the new one releases.
There is no promise they will repeat the promotion though so there is always that risk.
If you really donāt want to buy expansions, just wait for them to get rolled into the free version and sub to access it. That puts you a few years behind, but means you donāt pay for them.
The joy of playing Shadowlands, and re-grinding Covenants 4 to 16 times over and over again depending on how many cosmetics you wanted.
P.S. Blizzard, please surprise us with a final Covenant overhaul for the last patch of Shadowlands, or for the Dragonflight pre-patch. Please donāt continue to make it necessary to replay the covenant campaigns and features over and over and over (and over) to unlock the transmog gear appearances for alts of a different armor type.
