Since you changed AV for the better, why not do the same for BwL? The bosses need to be tuned around 40 decent players that have been farming MC and Ony for a month or two. The hardcore guilds would obviously still clear it on day one, but it would be a relevant challenge to the average guild. Vael doesn’t need to break a ton of guilds like back in the day, but he should require around 10-12k raid dps (about 400-500 average dps for a 25 dps raid) with the Essence of the Red buff to kill him before the buff expires. Harder content means people will stay subbed longer and you get more money. Don’t make BwL a joke like MC and Ony.
That didn’t take long- good job Blizz, now everyone sees Classic as a land of changes rather than the museum piece you once promised.
And so it begins.
Making BwL challenging would bring the experience closer to the real vanilla. Bosses that were infamous back then being steamrolled by pugs is a terrible way to see it as a museum.
You know what else would bring the experience closer to the real vanilla? If we got the real vanilla BWL.
Having 1.6 talents and itemization would be ideal, but that is way out of the question.
AV wasn’t changed for the horde, It was “altered” so the game can be healthier. So games are not completely lopsided.
If only we #nochanges folks had won and we got the game, patch by patch, warts and all, like we wanted.
Months of old AV, no CRBG until they were released with Naxx at the very end, all the old itemization for raids when we got to them.
But, we lost that battle- doesn’t mean we should now be asking for more changes.
And this would make content that was intended to be challenging actually challenging for average guilds.
There really was nothing challenging until AQ and Naxx, and all that was is a numbers check, and tank coordination on some fights,
The idea for this is a poor man’s version of 1.6. It’s not the same thing, but it’s closer to it with the experience.
Guilds are still wiping on Rag though.
I’m personally fine with changes that are within the original scope of vanilla WoW. I think it’s unreasonable to expect they’ll never change anything, and 1.12 was always the least desirable iteration anyway.
AV Premades literally ruined AV for EVERYONE not in them.
It’s not comparable.
“But easy raids ruin the game for me”
then go do mythic raids in retail.
that would do nothing to atlest 2/3 of the raid guilds on my server.
I’m averaging about 400 dps as a hance shaman.
then we shoulder alter world pvp so its not unhealthy for the lower populated faction.
funny how horde could premade all through vanilla without issue, but once alliance does it in classic, its all of a sudden an issue.
It’s not though, alliance is OP in WPvP I play on a 80-20 horde favored server and have no issues. Horde needs to be buffed imo.

Interesting, you say this, because cross realm battle grounds didn’t exist until 1.12. The horde premades you think existed all through vanilla were not premades. In fact, AV was not even the best place for honor for most of vanilla’s life cycle…
Because there were no posts asking for this sort of thing before a few days ago…
I don’t consider the AV changes a “loss” as it falls into the bugs and exploits category.
