this is the thing, if they act in good faith and stay true to their word about making w.e comes out equal to the other picks, than it doesnt matter, even if sims show S2 doing less, it doesnt matter. The mechanical change the 2 Set brings cannot be changed without just getting rid of the set, so potency isnt really the argument. what they do for balance next season has no bearing on this decision, because i cant predict what changes they will do outside of tier, but i can determine that S2 tier brings the best mechanical change for the content i do and enjoy.

I mean, would you be okay if in PVP they came up with HoW only applying judgement debuff (with no boost to damage and crit damage) and if they cut the 4set additional damage in half?

Expurg is easily healed by any healers hots and it get dispelled too, not that many healers would do it unless they remove a hoj and by mistake they remove expurg too.
from what i can recall, all tier sets in DF are nerfed 50% in pvp, so thats already a reality for pvp, regardless of what pvp set we end up with, so yes i vote the mechanical benefit.

I don’t need help and I really don’t care about your point because it’s just delusional and bad. S3 is the superior choice for Ret altogether. If you PVP oh well, S2 isn’t some kind of miracle pill, the damage you gain is just as pathetic as S3, I bet its within 2% of each other.
If you cared about your spec at all you wouldn’t try and hamstring it by making it play in the other 2 forms of content with tier that simply can’t compete.
Vangaurds says vote s2 tier for PvP. EVERYONE vote s2 tier.
Season 3 is the best and also most engaging to play around. It actually adds some skill to the rotation with the weaving instead of just a priority swap for HoW. I guess if you aren’t that good of a player, Season 2 would be better.

I want Ret to succeed in all content. Being last (non-aug) with current season 3 gear, doesnt aid pvp ret players. Ret needs help in many areas, not just the tier set.
So you want it to succeed in all content but you want the lowest pve tier set because you think they might “buff it”. Again a lot of rets pve issue stems from its inability to cleave due to its talent doesn’t in a ALL CLEAVE raid. Inb4 “s2 tier makes how cleave so it fixes it” no because the season 3 tier cleave is STRONGER than how cleave when both are the same ilvl.
If you REALLY want ret to succeed in all content you would have voted for s1 tier which is what Pvpers in eu is doing and actual Pvpers in na are doing aswell. But no. Ret was strong in pvp end s1 and early aberrus right? Cause of the tier set right??? Not because it was broken beyond belief.
Season 1 tier is so far out of the voting its a wasted vote. Can only vote s2 tier at this point.
this is the thing pvers are having trouble understanding, if u get the S3 tier and get buffed outside of that, you would potentially make it to the middle of the meter, this scenario happens even if you pick S2 and get buffed outside of that. But in pvp, if you get S3 tier and get buffed outside of that, nothing changes, you minimum need the S2 tier for something to change.
