My hope is that eventually when WoW shuts down in X years, they allow us to download our characters and use the AI tech they are currently making to create groups, and in time raids. I could see players paying for that, so that even if servers were gone, they could still play. Look at City of Heroes. NCSoft literally gave up the license to the Homecoming Servers because people wanted it so bad.
I could see a scenario where WoW eventually became sort of like Diablo 2 in the day.
Doesn’t have to be challenging for them, just should be higher than the current tuning where you’re still in the tutorial at level 70.
If in a sand box self mode would be fine but not in a MMO ,there is no self in it.
People saying ‘level naked’ or ‘that won’t work cause x’ either don’t know what they’re talking about or don’t understand what I’m proposing which is fine but it would work.
Just because you think it’s pointless doesn’t make it pointless to everyone, same could be said for other activities like mogging, rping, pvping or pveing; people enjoy leveling with a sense of progression while not feeling rushed out of a zone because you level too quickly (yes you can turn off xp but that’s a hassle to do every level & again you don’t feel like you’re progressing you’re just doing quests on easy mode).
& you couldn’t have damage taken v. damage done settings via buff why? It would work, stop it.
Ok so, you could say that to people who did hardcore on classic etc but Blizzard implemented that anyways; moot point.
All they need to do is make sliders for leveling.

Yeah, same here it sucks seeing all the fun things going into a technical older part of the game like self-mode & SoD.
Some people wanna play retail & actually feel immersed again via leveling & world.
Seems like they are fully focused on the next expansion as far as retail goes, but yeah some of those things would be better than the coming season 4.
I am actually only leveling alts right now. I put my transmog hunting on pause until the next expansion comes out and allows you to collect all armor types.
Yeah I just finished leveling a warlock, I just wish there was a way where you could go through all the xpacs like a story mode without outleveling it ontop of it being challenging (even using whites/greys or naked it’s still really easy*).
