Retail Players' thoughts on Classic Wrath

We don’t know that.

There’s millions of studies on the outcry from upset people versus happy ones.

What’s preventing you from having immersion from dungeons right now? Your eye sore?

It’s also been a thing also tested on PServers. Years ago, the largest PServer made a Hardcore server that didn’t have LFD. It was popular for a while but largely became hated.

People would just do the same fastest Heroics each day, namely Gundrak #1 Prio. It felt awful in practice. In 2018 they reverted it and the community was happy AF.

I might get taken down for linking it, but here ya go http://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=375468

Whats preventing you from being immersed in the world with rdf? You can still travel right to the dungeon entrance, you can actually even go inside the dungeon and queue up there. You can get like minded guildies to run to the instance with you also. Even with rdf in the game people are still at summoning stones all across the world in retail.

Like I said, only one of us is attempting to control how the playerbase as a whole gets to enjoy the game. That one of us isnt me.

Different player bases so potentially different outcomes.

The Lordaeron players are very similar to Classic players, they were mainly our demographic too. They were the ones that wanted Blizzlike 1x servers, actually wanted buffed raids (Which they got).

I’d argue theres no PServer community closer to Classic than that server

Edit: I’ve also played on it before and after the LFD. No-LFD just straight felt bad. I did Gundrak > Bug dungeon every day for badges, I never saw half the heroics because we explicitely chose them each time. The community hated it in about a month

Again, the pool.

Ask yourself, why don’t PTR players gear up organically there? Why do they use the vendors?

Players aren’t going to handicap themselves either, that’s not fun.

But it also isn’t enjoyable having content removed to make it easier for the lazy folk. Even if it is dry content.

I will give Wrath a shot since it’s my favorite version of wow. But I can tell you that if I have to wait around all day looking for dungeon groups and if I have to pay for raid loot it’s not going to last very long.

First, I’ve NEVER paid for a dungeon or piece of loot. For every GDKP there is a SR raid too it seems.

Second, even with RDF you’ll have queues. What do you do then?

That’s my worry as well. Without RDF people also just spam the exact same dungeons in the exact same order each day, it really does not feel good. Hoping they change their mind.

As for paying for gear, if you join a raid guild you won’t even think about it. It sucks that people are doing it, but it is also blown way out of proportion

Probably out farming herbs while the Q pops.

Why? People will probably do the daily and if others are rep grinding or what have you, ya they’ll probably try to run the heroics they can. That’s exactly what happens in TBC right now.

I havent fact checked or anything, but as far as I remember zero content has been removed by rdf being in the game.

Read.

It effectively removes it. When you have ghost running back to Utgarde keep completely lost, you’ll see its affects.

And it’s not like they’re going their to scout it out.

There are outliars in what dungeons are fastest v slowest.

Gundrak always had people sitting outside because it was by far the fastest. Then whatever the daily was would have a crowd sitting outside.

After that, not many were popular enough to get fast groups, and it was like 2-3 other options. Of course nobody did Oculus/CoT/Nexus/OldKingdom. They were a bit longer, why choose them.

Kind of like heroic Slave pens?

Kind of like Heroic BF?

All dungeons are not created equal. There are always ones players avoid in all expansions.

No thoughts really. I guess my thoughts are why you care what retail players think of Classic?

Yes, and this is a bad aspect of TBC. Always doing Slave Pens first each day is not good design.

Kind of like Heroic BF?

Sure? Different reasons people avoid them but I see the point you’re making. I definitely wouldn’t call it good game design regardless that every day people do X first, then you never see another dungeon like, ever. Random feels a hell of a lot better.

Hell, once the LK Dungeons release, why would I do H HoR when I can do my daily heroic then any of the easier earlier ones? I know that’s the patch LFD was added in the first place, but without adding RFD, this will be a large issue. People will run it once for their quests and never touch them again, as 232 ilvl is only good for alt catchup.

Lets break this down to the very basics of it… Your immersion is other people having to travel to the dungeon with you, thats pretty much it?

The only reason we did heroics past the first day of level 80 was for the heroic emblems you got for the daily quest. Nobody was running heroics for fun. It was all about emblems.
