So right now they only have a general Warcraft franchise opt-in, which means they could potentially be sending beta invites out to a bunch of people only interested in Retail who will never play Classic.
I hope Blizz has some plans to avert such a disaster.
Well, the shared sub means they’re inviting a bunch of people only interested in Retail to play Classic, so apparently Blizzard isn’t worried about it.
Its inevitable. I can imagine it now. Many of us stressing here on the forums as folks on General go “I just got a beta invite for Classic. Im never gonna use it. Game is old and terrible!”.
I’m not sure how they’ll go about it. I only have been invited to betas when I do high end content, like 2.4+ arena or mythic raiding on a consistent basis. I’m not sure why but it’s what I assume got me in, because the week I got an achieve in arena I received a beta invite email … I’ve been in legion and bfa beta now, I’ll be so mad if I miss the one I actually want to be invited to. I wonder what metric they’ll use first. I’m assuming accounts that have been active since vanilla that are still active?
I hope it doesn’t require a BfA subscription to get the Classic Beta email, many players like myself are currently unsubbed just waiting for Classic. I know the Beta itself will require a subscription but getting the email shouldn’t.
It would be pretty biased if they only invited retail players into Classic…
I hope so because they stopped sending me Beta invites after Mists of Pandaria which was also the first expansion I stopped buying yearly subs… seems like a coincidence
I’ve also been kinda negative in the forums in the last 3 expansions so I’m sure they got me blacklisted somewhere… but I’m really happy about Classic WoW, I find that to be a pretty positive change from Blizzards usual attitude.
That and Warcraft Reforged, I can’t wait to see “This city must be purged…” in HD!
What if someone wanted to play classic and accidentally downloaded retail? They log in and see a bunch of blood elf demon hunters in bikinis doing pet battles.
The last thing I want is for anyone to listen to the people with decision making skills resulting in them stayed subbed all this time. That’s like asking for stock advice from someone wearing their underwear outside their pants.
