Retail always starts in back ground and i cannot just click icon in task bar i have to at tab and click into the screen. Sometimes takes forever to load. For a while retail has taken a long time to load randomly, sometimes a minute to two to start up. I have done client resets, no effect. I have zero addons. Next is completely deleting game but thought I would ask before doing so.

I’m thinking something is tasking higher in windows than wow.exe. Might be another program running a overlay. Many do now, like GPU software, discord, many mouse and keyboard software.
Before uninstalling simply try scan and repair first, make sure to run the launcher in admin mode by right clicking the short cut.
Likely would not cause this as the game does not load them until you are on the character.
Check notifications also. I’ve seen persistant windows notifications push active apps to the background.

I also always mention addons when i have issues because that’s usually first response I get no matter what issue is. “my computer is on fire” “did you delete your addons, its most likely a conflict”. This is satire, but you get my point.
