Ret Pally Woe

I know Elemental Assault is supposed to be ahead on ST…but I don’t feel like Hailstorm falls that far behind, does it? Overall the damage is made up from the cleave effects from Hailstorm at the very least

I have a odd ? about ret paladin i got a alt one how much does haveing Final verdict help are there truely a game changer the legendary that is or just more of a high ilvl in power and nothing else?think bfa cloak ext.

It seems that way for Demo as well, it’s like a big tease with fun, meaningful damage, then all of a sudden a month later… put back on the benchwarming section.

This forum is a cesspool of the worst players in the game who come here to beg for free gear and class changes they don’t understand lol. It’s mostly just entertaining to see how ridiculous people are.

Demo should be one of the highest damage specs in the game. It has a long setup and very unforgiving rotation in which you have to do static casts for ~5-10s and think ahead multiple casts and if you blow it you lose like 50% of your dps from the tyrant and/or your implodes. There should be a big payout for pulling it off optimally. Just more evidence these devs don’t really understand how to balance things for good gameplay.

Holy pally needed that nerf. Speaking from seeing my bf play it. Force him go back to tanking for me :eye::lips::eye:

Yeah I forgot how technical that spec was. I was never an optimum Lock player though. It seemed when things went right, It was the most devastating Warlock spec I’d ever seen (not me as a lock player). It was Dark Apotheosis that caved me in in MoP.

Instead of admitting you read the notes wrong you just flame everyone. You’re delusional.

Try it for yourself and find out  it sims, and performs, quite a bit worse on ST for my shaman. Can be a fun talent to mess with in m+, but you will very much notice the difference

Ah I don’t really Sim lol but I did try Elemental Assault when I ran him through LFR. Just didn’t seem that impactful. May be too his lower ilvl too? I dunno haha

It’s not just the 15% damage boost, its the additional maelstrom from SS - leads to more maelstrom stacks and is a net increase in single target.

Don’t get me wrong, hailstorm is decent in AoE, but you feel the dps loss at higher ilvls on single target. It may have something to do with a lower ilvl, SS scales with weapons/attack power/haste.

Also, if you plan on doing the elemental blast/hot hands/witch doctor wolf build like I have done on mine, be sure to put your best ilvl weapon in your offhand - lava lash will become a higher priority source of damage

There’s plenty more info in the shaman forums if you wanna check it out

I’m 185 still rocking a 148/135 weapon lol I need to finish the campaign to get that 187 going.

And a 75% increase in Frost Shock helps with that ST too. Still flinging LBs in ST scenario, at a 15% reduced rate compared to EA. :man_shrugging:

I’ll have to play around with it more as I gear up. But thanks for a heads up!

Well the good news is in TBC Ret is actually decent and Ret is godly in Wrath. So come join us on Classic Servers!

It’s a ret paladin. What did you expect? :man_shrugging:

Bold of you to assume ret paladins can read.
