Ret Pally attack sequence

Just wondering I just got back into playing since the cataclysm exp pack years ago. I’m trying to find the best use of spell sequence when approaching groups of mobs. Any idea what order I should be casting my DPS spells? I’m lvl 52 now.

This is my character

Final reckoning, avenging wrath, then build holy power with wake of ashes, divine toll, and blade of justice.

Spend on divine storm, don’t over cap holy power.

Spending totally depends on what you built. Normally for me it’s final reckoning, avenging wrath, divine storm, spend, wake, spend , blade of justice, hammer, spend, blade, judgement, spend.

Using judgement comes down to whether or not you already have the debuff on target.

I’m spec’d into the aoe build though. No serious content, don’t swap specs, I just use this for everything world, lfr, dungeon, etc.

It works and it’s a lot of fun.

Biggest thing is to not just sit on your DPS cooldowns. USE THEM! They’re on a 1min CD, lasts 20 seconds. So you should almost literally be using them on cooldown and you only have 40 seconds of downtime between them.

Always stack avenging wrath and final reckoning, then hit divine toll, wake of ashes you will have one use under avenging wrath and one use without since it’s a 30 second CD.

Try to not desync your cooldown.

Replace divine storm with final verdict for single target situations

Download Hekili

  • You will have one row for Single Target
  • If you see the AoE row pop up, then you can use those buttons

It’s nice because if there are 2-3 targets, AoE may not even show up as a row with Hekili so you’ll be using the single target abilities. In addition, it’ll have the hotkey number (e.g. ‘7’ corresponding to something like TS) that you can spam. It also makes it easier to see what is and isn’t available (e.g. if something is on cool down, it won’t show as your optimal damage).

Good way to start to get to know a class and rotation. Eventually, you’ll be lining up your cooldowns with the large pack pulls (like sitting on beacon until you blah-blah cooldown is ready)

Google “ret paladin levelling guide” click on the icy veins one. Should have a level by level rotation for you.

should work well enough for now
