I have been a warrior and dk main for years. Started in early tbc and have played on and off depending the xpac.
I needed something new and tried the only other plate class left.
I haven’t touched paladin in a very long time.
This is the most fun I have had as a dps in pve. I am not sure what the general vibe is for ret atm, but I am loving it.
It is pretty fun and we actually have genuine choices this time around which hasn’t been the case in forever to be honest.
I’m really enjoying the new ES as a funnel ability, it feels incredible to land big ES on the biggest minion of a pack.

Same. I leveled up a priest, DH, Hunter, and DK in TWW and just can’t bring myself to move off the paladin.

I like it too! In legion remix I forced myself to try a new class and I’ve played Paladin before but it always felt really watered down and I could never get into it but For whatever reason it just clicked this time and I like it now. Plus I really like holy Spec for healing too.
Well Ret’s kit is kinda OP and many players find being OP fun.
Been gearing up my Ret for PvP and I gotta say, it feels broken and I’m not even a good Ret.
Maybe I’m just used to actually having to try hard on shaman, idk.
It’s definitely the mvp of solo specs lol.
I also play enh shaman so I feel that 
it’s the reason I had a hard time getting into ret … I actually enjoy holy more, I tend to prefer underdog specs lol. But sometimes I just wanna roll faces

It’s not OP by any means.
“Overpowered” inherently means it’s out of balance relative to other specs, it is not.
At least not in PVE which is what OP posted about.
PVP is whatever…
It’s not maintained with any serious intent, at least it seems that way and they just let whatever fly.
And PVP is not why because Ret is popular either.
Because it has been overwhelmingly popular since its rework and since then it had, apparently, terrible PVP seasons so it’s not a meaningful factor.
Best 1v1 dps spec in the game.

Execution Sentence.
Paladin is easily my favorite class in the game, and I’d wager my most played. I’ve focused mostly on holy so far in midnight but healing gets a bit stressful so i’m itching to get a nice two-hander so I can go ret. I might even craft one this week. Ret is really fun, and I just LOVE the 30 second wings. The spec is easy, but still fun, and being easy I guess makes it easier to use all the utility.

I’ve been playing Retribution ever since they baked Exorcism into its mastery baseline. It even plays the old Exorcism sound byte when it triggers. Part of what drew me to play Season of Discovery was the Retribution Exorcism spam/caster playstyle, so the fact that they baked Exorcism into the Mastery on Retail just made me all sorts of happy.
