Resto Shaman is a worse Pres Evoker

I mean I agree there is quite a bit of overlap between the kits with Lust and stuff but I also think that utility-wise you are selling it a bit short on the Shaman.

For example… Sure the Knockback and Knock-up from Evokers are good but those are on a 90s CD (they can pick one to reduce to 45s)… In comparison Thunderstorm is a 30s CD and Cap totem can be either 40s or 1m and proc twice. So I’d say Shaman has a clear edge on that direct comparison.

Shaman’s interrupt is on a 12s CD… Evoker one is 40s.

I agree that Time Dilation is very strong so Evoker probably has the edge here, but we have to at least mention Earth Shield giving permanent DR to someone.

So for regular dispel Shaman can do Curses only and Evokers can do Poisons only. So let’s call those even.

Then we have Cauterize magic on a 1m CD vs Purge (offensive dispel) and Poison dispel totem… So for Raids I think Cauterize is definitely more useful (also because they seem to be purposely emphasizing bleeds at least on one fight each tier) but for M+ I might actually take the Shaman side of that equation.

True, but also shorter range.

Idk I mean I think that if you add everything together Evokers do come up ahead in terms of Raid utility (rescue is also often very good), but I feel Shamans might have the edge in M+ due to superior CC and the better interrupt, and I think more DPS too.

Utility wise at least…
