I feel like this is going to be game changing for me. Ive never used mouse over. Also, again, thank you so much for taking your time to type all of this out. I half expected nonsense responses, and people telling me to just re-roll. This is probably my first 100% positive feedback threads.
Always happy to have more people into the druid family!
Yeah Iāll never understand why so many people want to be negative all the time, especially people who are trying something new or improve at something theyāve been doing for a while. We all started somewhere; I had the benefit of starting WoW when it was brand new and basically all of us had no idea what anything did. Anyone starting out now or looking to improve on some of the basics wonāt have that luxury since so many players will have already figured out many of these foundational building blocks.
I am learning lots here,
Iām in the +7 to +8 range.
Any of you pros know why my Convoke occasionally interrupts itself?
Even if I wanted to interrupt the cast, I wouldnāt know how.
This is my macro:
#showtooltip Convoke the Spirits /cast Nature's Swiftness /cast Convoke the Spirits
If you try to take any action besides moving or jumping, Convoke will stop. You could also cancel the cast when you press escape. Also, there are a couple mechanics in dungeons that will interrupt player spell casts that will also interrupt Convoke. Beyond these ideas, there isnāt really enough information here to try to figure out what otherwise might be going on, weād probably need some data from the log to see what happened.
To get deeper into the weeds on this - when you first press Convoke, your global cooldown will start ticking down. If you try to take an action that is governed by the GCD during the time the GCD is ticking down, the game wonāt attempt the action and Convoke will continue. Once the GCD has ended (or technically speaking, shortly before), Convoke will still be casting, and using another ability will interrupt Convoke.
Iāve understood everything in your first paragraph for many, many years, but I appreciate you breaking that down in case Iām relatively new.
I read your second paragraph a couple times, and I guess since I am typically an APM junkie coming from SC/BW who has typically played melee in WoW with no casting, I guess I may be hitting other keys so fast/muscle memory and I might not realize it.
Thing is, my Convoke is even bound somewhere that I have to realign my hand on my keyboard into the WASD position which typically ensures Iām not accidentally hitting other keys in that 1 second window process.
idk, itās either that, or it feels buggy.
I donāt know how to look up or present logs.
I canāt rule out the possibility of a bug. I havenāt experienced what youāre describing though so it seems less likely.
This wowhead article will probably explain the easiest way to get log data for review better than I could: https://www.wowhead.com/guide/how-to-use-warcraft-logs-6341
Yea, nobody has, from what Iāve googled. Iām really hoping itās a me thing, but Iām having a hard time believing that.
Sweet, thank you!
Convoke cast being interrupted? - Classes / Druid - World of Warcraft Forums (blizzard.com)
Iām going to test this when Iām home from work in 10 hrs
Sounds good. Yeah I rarely combine GG with Convoke and always manually triggered my NS. So that would be why I would have never experienced these issues.
While this is true, I cannot really recommend to save or wait for procs. Spam this if needed. With the mana talent youāll never run out of mana. Iām having a blast pumping big numbers also with regrowth spamming. And spamming wrath for stupidly high amount of mana regen.
Heya, this did nothing for me, I can interrupt convoke with any spell of my choosing when using this macro.
Iāve tested and reproduced interrupting my convoke while having 3 charges of GG, zero guardians out on the field
If its a consistent problem and you havent already; turning on advanced combat logging and getting something like method raid tools for the log inspector might find it. Its has a second to second record and aura tracking so you can pick through and maybe find whats proccing with your convoke casts.
Now for an odd question/nother thing to check, do you have the resto druid artifact transmogged. Its flower floor proc is a hidden spell cast and when it goes off it will interrupt whatever youre doing -ive had it stop everything from fishing to a tranq channel since im always wearing it-
I do not, have not. I appreciate you thinking of all the angles tho
I looked up that owl staff appearance:
Note: The basic tint of the challenge appearance is unobtainable as of Battle for Azeroth prepatch. The other tints can still be unlocked if you finished the Mage Tower Artifact Challenge during Legion."
[Restoration Druid Artifact Weapon: G'Hanir the Mother Tree - Wowhead](https://www.wowhead.com/guide/artifact-weapons/ghanir-restoration-druid)
Is that somehow saying I can still get the other 3 tints today? I did the Mage Tower challenge in Legion for many specs, just not Druid.
Unfortunately no, you need the base tint already to have the ability to unlock the other colors. Any class you do have the base mage tower apperence on you can go back an unlock any re-colors you missed though.
Oh I see- you worded that way better than wowhead tbqh lol
