So how are yall healing as a pvp resto shaman? I enjoy healing but mana depletion is pretty ridiculous. Ive healed on multiple classes and mana just deletes itself on my shaman. Any guidance would be appreciated
I’m going into this next expansion as my gobbie resto for our Raid. So as someone that doesn’t have a whole lot of history behind knowing the answer - I will tell you that my fellow Druid raider is happy for my mana totem (I think it’s going to be baked into another totem for the patch?)
But in terms of what you’re speaking about, we’ve agreed that I’ll drop a totem that has mana regen for him, and he’ll inveterate me. I don’t know about EVERY healing spec, but I do know that at least as of right now, Restoration Shammies and Druids are the only couple having mana issues, which is a weird problem to have when you can raid with priests/monks wherein their mana bars don’t even budge.
Kinda screwy, really. Not sure why some classes have mana issues when it comes to healing while other classes are able to infinitely heal. (And it’s not even like Shammies are able to burst heal someone up, either. So there’s not that whole thought that I can burn my mana to emergency heal someone.) Seems like a… Problem that’s not the best design, if you ask me.
Edit: I’m sorry, I know your question was specified towards PvP. I’m just answering what I know on the PvE end.
I would recommend just going Farseer in PVP. You will loose a bit of overall healing throughput, but you save a ton of mana. Next patch I think there is a pretty good chance Farseer is the go to for PVP since the Ancestors will now scale with Mastery.
I just really focus on stacking mastery so my heals do as much healing as possible so I need to cast less heals. Shaman just is, and has been, a mana hog in PvP healing. I think the talent change coming, that allow water shield to be permanent and more effective for resto vs having charges will help, that way if you don’t forget to reapply water shield you’re not hemorrhaging mana.
HUGE!
