Really, Blizz?
REALLY?
You’re really going to gate a 2KP item behind this absurdly stupid design?
For those of you who don’t know, this is probably one of THE most asinine drops in the game right now.
Looking it up on WoW, there are testimonials of people who have looted FIFTEEN THOUSAND Arcana trying to get this stupid thing.
How about we… NOT gate 2KP items behind ultra-rare drops? Kthx.
Also, whoever designed the drop method behind that stupid pattern needs to be fired or at least never design anything like this ever again.
Same goes for whatever idiot thought that they should gate 2KP items behind things like the Blood Knight’s Impetus, and other Dungeon/Delve/Whatever ultra-rare drops.
Tbh wouldn’t do that order anyway even though I got that recipe to drop pretty early on. The mats for that are not worth 2kp and catch up is correct for jewelcrafting, so you’ll just get 2 flickers next week. I’d advise to just ignore it and pretend it’s not even there.

All the items were provided except for one of the cheapest, though.
At this point in the expansion you should have used up all your one time uses of Artisan’s Moxie. If you’re still doing those orders (and you really should) then all of the “chest” category recipes are dropping from the Artisan Master (aka Moxie) bags. And apparently at a higher rate than they occur in their primary sources.
I have this recipe, and about a dozen others, just from the Moxie bags.
Yeah, I buy moxie bags all the time.
I get a recipe out of 1 in like 20 bags. None of them were this one, though.
I’ve been doing every moxie order I possibly can that’s feasible and not ridiculously expensive since the beginning of Midnight (I have 1 of each crafter except 2 tailors and 2 enchanters) and I’ve gotten like 5-6 recipes total.
A couple jewelry cuts
The blood knight’s impetus
a couple furniture recipes that I’ve never seen pop up on orders before
And that’s about it.
So I have almost all of the patterns from moxie bags. This one I got like week 2, but that’s luck of the draw.
So like I have a bajillion enchant/engineering alts that just do patron orders. Because their patron orders are so cheap almost all of them are profitable. And then the moxie bags just keep coming (along with rank 2 ore if you care about such things). When you’re opening that many moxie bags, you get so many patterns. I usually get 1 every other week.

So basically your answer is to just have an army of enchanter alts, lol
Like that is any way reasonable or feasible for your average person just wanting to level up a few crafters…
That ratio feels about right - there’s just a lot of recipes and no limit to how many you get of any type.
The overall issue of which recipes are in the pool for orders is something I might research in Last Titan. It’s more of a hunch, but the kinds of orders you get appear to be influenced by the specializations you’ve unlocked. The best example of this was my enchanter who was doing a bunch of glamour orders until he unlocked Elevating Equipment and then all of those orders dried up.
But I’d need to test that theory and even if I did get an answer I doubt we could forget everything and train our characters to optimize order types.
No obviously not, Hirai. That’s just something to think about for you if you want. But I would say it’s not particularly difficult to make a bajillion enchanter/eng alts if that’s what you want to do.
The whole point of the thread is to discuss the fact that this system (or at least this part of the crafting system) is stupid and why Blizz should stop doing this stupid crap.
Players should not be expected, nor required, to make an army of enchanters just to circumvent one of the worst design decisions Blizz made with this crafting system.
I mean, what if in TLT we go back to Enchanting being one of the harder crafts to level? Only reason it was so easy in MN is because of Engineering and the Evercore recipes. Without that, it would have been atrociously hard like in TWW where Tailoring needed dust to make Imbued Bolts which were required for nearly everything, but had very few recipes they could make for Mass DEing, and cloth was still just a terrible a drop rate even with the exploiting of that kobold dungeon.
Recipes have had low drop chances since the start of the game. These are .. not the worst I’ve ever seen tbh. I will agree though that finding them through delves is pretty abysmal and perhaps they should increase that chance to the same chance as moxie bags.
Suppose someone is farming them in the method that I suggested. Should they not be able to make gold from their recipes?
But I’m not trying to make light of your frustrations, just pointing out that there is nothing you can do that doesn’t affect other people. What’s good for you could be disastrous for someone else.
Anyway should another one drop for me I’ll mail it to you for free.
I am not saying said recipes should not exist.
I am saying that KP should never be gated behind them.
Recipes yielding KP should ONLY be recipes that you either learn from the trainer, or bought with Moxie.
And I’m not going to ask that someone just give me a 30k recipe. I don’t take handouts. I’d rather just skip the 2KP, as much as it sucks to do that.
I’m merely voicing how stupid the system is, and how it shouldn’t be like this.
Eh, they’re a pain to sell tbh! Which is why I give them away rather than selling them. I’m sure that’s someone’s market but I got no patience for that kinda thing.
Anyway, carry on. /Cheers
Guess what I’m doing until 12.1?
I’ve lost track of how many pro tips you give in your comments and I’m grateful for them all. Thank you.

It’s interesting seeing the varied reports of “decent” drop rates on the recipes via artisan bags in Midnight. I think I’ve seen a grand total of three, maybe four recipes out of them to this point with less than a week until 12.1, and I have earned at least 99% of the moxie that has been available to each profession since early access. Probably bought at least 10 bags for each crafting profession by this point (with gathering bags notably lagging behind due to far-reduced income; and anyway I lost count of them all), so I would say the drop rate of recipes from the bags is actually total garbage from my perspective. Luck of the draw.

And let’s not forget about how Leatherworking is still broken where 4-5 days a week you get 0 moxie from LW because the orders are broken and disappear as soon as you open the table.
How long has it been since MN came out? 7 months? And it is STILL broken!?
I’ve seen this brought up a few times and have never seen this happen once on the seven leatherworkers I have on Live. I’ve even tried to replicate it on PTR and can’t get it to behave like that.
I’m not denying that it’s happening to you, I’m just saying it’s not a systemic issue.
Really?
You’ve never seen a single crafting order with a “1m” duration that disappears as soon as you click the back button and then go back into Patron Orders?
Never?
It happens to me 4+ times a week.
The 1m crafts occur within a few hours of the daily reset. They’re orders you saw the day before but didn’t fill them, and the game is giving you a second chance to fill the order before it expires.
I don’t click on them because my rationale for not doing them didn’t change in 24 hours. But tomorrow I’ll make an effort to click on them and go back to see if that makes them disappear. Keeping in mind that if that’s actually happening then it’s probably intentional due to why you’re seeing them in the first place.
This behavior is not craft-specific, though for me it’s been realm-specific in that all the tables on a specific realm will get them but none at all on other realms.
No, I am talking about in the middle of the day even within an hour after the reset. Here, let me log on and see if my LW table will do it again.
It never does this for any other craft. ONLY Leatherworking does this.
EDIT: Meh, it didn’t do it this time. But I will post a screenshot next time that it does. And it will NOT be anywhere near a reset.
EDIT2: And again, I have to stress: This happens 3-4 times a week on LW. I have not once seen it on any other craft. I have seen a 1 minute Enchanting order, once, at 10:58PM one night after I got home from work. that order didn’t disappear as soon as I hit the back button, and persisted long enough for me to finish the order.
