Why is there even a discussion about “fresh” servers? Since when does WoW wipe everyone’s gold and gear before an Xpac?
And…why would anyone even bother achieving anything in WoW if it all gets taken away? It’s bad enough that your BIS gear is all but obsolete within 5 levels of a new xpac, but now you want to take everything away?
I don’t even have a lot of gold, and I hate this idea. Not because I’m a no-lifer, but because it takes away any sense of long term achievement in WoW.
This would be bad enough for me to cancel my sub and look for a new MMO if they did this.

Rather than resetting your gold blizz should randomly redistribute it among non mage players on your server. That would be funny an would make you mad , so there is no logical reason for them not to do it.

how about gold reset but instead of starting with no gold everyone starts with a completely random amount of gold, ranging from between zero (0) and the gold cap

And also, the server communities is one of the most important aspects of the classic era of the game. It makes no sense to fresh start everyone, people want play with the people from their servers that they are attached too and see every day for the past 20 months.

there is no escaping the people who will manipulate and exploit every single economy on every single server because that is the whole reason why some people play this game. they don’t pvp, dont raid they just manipulate markets as a hobby.
everyone is better off being forced to a progression server as to not split populations / guilds in half.
because by the end of TBC every server will be the same anyway. you want to sever the player base for 1 month of a not so inflated economy?

You know, I hadn’t thought too much about a gold reset as my self-worth is not tied to some imaginary currency in an MMORPG. However…
If it means you will not buy TBC and not participate, that sounds like a win/win situation for the community and the game. Of course you could just be bluffing like you were when you said many times over that you were going to quit the game over changes they made to slow your RMT and gold-farming. But on the off chance that THIS time you are actually going to live up to your words…

Edit: I really don’t care one way or the other about any kind of reset. I’m just saying that though it is couched in a strange sort of righteous anger, it’s a brag thread. 
look im not trying to be like that. over the coarse of the month. i was banned from these forums. and during that time all i read about was people whining over boosting, people having lots of gold and oh my servers too full. only one that got to me was the gold reset though sure was hard reading cryers that have no gold whin about gold resets and i ccouldlnt say anything. was soo hard to hold back but i did and you are right ill stick to my promise.
