Require Warmode for 1 week for Alliance

What, is AOO up again this week? Haven’t seen it in a while.

I feel you.

It not a forced requirement. I don’t know if you read my post? But your clever way of cutting it all down and taking it out of context is noted.

I said… if alliance want their sweet high ilvl piece of loot for the week they should require to have WarMode on for the entire week. The conditional would be accepting and completing the quest for the piece of gear. Otherwise they would retain any normal incentives. Nothing is forced. Its an alliance characters choice to opt in for that sick piece of gear. Also why i advocate for that piece being a higher ilvl than it currently gives.

Simple solution to an issue. Make alliance keep the bonus on and stop gaming the system.

True or not, doesnt matter.

If the bonus for warmode is equal, like it was at the start, then alliance complains.

If alliance, the lower represented group, gets an incentive the horde complains.

Cant win either way. Since both sides want to be petty, no bonuses at all.

It’s like dealing with a kid. If he cries about being given toys and says they’re not good enough, you just take the toys away completely.

Are you factoring in those of us who refuse to turn WM on, regardless of what’s being offered?

Regardless I’m glad this will NEVER be added, so this whole post is a mute point.

Why would you post in this topic if it doesn’t apply to you then? Why would you ask me if I factor someone whose demographic isn’t being affected? All interesting questions to ask I suppose.

But after those few days you get the bonus for doing absolutely nothing so doesn’t it even out.

Still wouldn’t turn War Mode on, regardless of what was offered.

Pretty sure you missed the entire point and are derailing the thread in a different direction for your own vendetta against whiners.

This isn’t about anything but a problem. Alliance aren’t keeping warmode turned on despite there being incentives for them having it on. So the incentives do not work. I believe there should be incentives. Without even really changing the incentives Blizzard can require they keep warmode on for the week if they want that lil extra piece of gear and bam we begin to see alliance more consistently in warmode. Its entirely still optional and in no way are they losing out on their bonuses if they don’t opt in for the piece and they retain their freedom of switching it on and off.

Man I’m so happy that we have the right incentives to get the right people that are interested in World PvP to join in on warmode.

Because it’s people like me who play mostly Alliance and don’t turn on warmode that adds to the discrepancy between the factions for players who do turn it on.
That discrepancy is why you’re complaining. Without it, there would be none or fewer perks awarded to the lesser represented faction.
So yes, I’m a contributing factor to your gameplay being affected. As are all of those players who won’t roll Alliance or faction transferred to Horde.

Look, if you want to chuck some free gear at me for something I’m already going to do anyway, have at it.

Never complained about anything. Just said simply that the current incentives arent keeping alliance in warmode. So if you want that to happen, make them opt into warmode for the entire week to get their free high ilvl piece of gear.

This is quite a simple post but many seem to derail into things I clearly didn’t say, impose emotions on me that I haven’t exhibited, or just entirely can’t comprehend what I am proposing.

Do we know if this is how it works? Does Blizzard only tally the numbers for warmode at one time druing the current cycle, and whatever that number is, is how they set the warmode bonus? Or if you turn on warmode for the week, wether it’s on the whole time or part of the time do you count? What happens if you turn it off and on multiple times? Do you count multiple times?

Do we know how Blizzard actually tally’s the numbers?

So forcing players into a mode they don’t want to stay in.

You want a change to a mechanic that is in place to entice players to use WM.
Correct?
Said mechanic appears to be being gamed by players turning it on long enough to acquire the reward, then turning it off.
Correct?

Blizzard changes mechanic to force said players to remain in WM for the duration of the week.
Results? Fewer players turn it on, thus keeping the faction ratio imbalanced.
Remember, the imbalance has to be at an extreme for that quest to even appear.

This right here is the major item that needs to be asked. The OP believes that the number is only looking at a snapshot at a certain time of players with War Mode currently active. However, if the system instead is looking at “Characters with a War Mode PvP kill that week” for example, then his argument for forcing Alliance players to stay in War Mode has no effect at all on if an incentive reward is offered or not, since if they did ANY War Mode at all during the week, they would be counted for the calculations no matter if they turned it off or not.

Basically, OP does not have enough info to be making the request he’s asking for.

Is this the case? Do we have any evidence that the system is being gamed? Do we even know the parameters of the system?

Personally, I don’t know how they are measuring it, but I recall a number in the 30-35% range (maybe higher) being stated as the trigger for the quest. And that Ion stated he doubted the Horde would ever see the quest at all.
As far as gaming, again, no personal experience since I don’t and won’t turn it on, so I never see the quantity or lack thereof of players using it. I do see flagged players in the capitals, but there’s another factor the OP didn’t consider.
If the change is made, as suggested, and players are forced to keep WM on for the week, what’s stopping them from remaining risk free in safe zones and simply do instanced content for the rest of the week?

But to be fair, and perfectly honest, I only replied in this thread due to the OPs name and guild name…can’t say I’d could take any requests made seriously.

It won’t happen. They are getting at least some participation with the quest to where they want to look at additional perks for War Mode.

Also, War Mode is so boring that is why Alliance is not staying in War Mode as well. I play both factions and stay in War Mode all of the time since I tried it out. I really never see anyone attacking me and for the most part people just leave each other alone. Unless one person starts a fight then others “might” jump in but I do not see too much war.
