That’s exactly the kind of report system abuse I’m raising concerns about.

That is not abuse. Again, players may report any post they feel is against the forum code of conduct. Being wrong is not abuse.

For some clarification. Players may report a thread if they feel that it violates our Code of Conduct/Forum Guidelines. We do not penalize them if they are wrong as we do not wish to discourage players from helping their community by reporting bad posts.

That said, using multiple alts to report a post, abusing the reporting system that we have in place is absolutely a violation of our policies. A moderator may not have noticed this time around, but the penalty for that is not an insignificant warning.

Keep in mind that using multiple characters to report the same post multiple times is considered abuse of the forum reporting system and will result in removal of your posting privileges. We don’t like to take this sort of action, but if we see systems being abused we will.

I do have good news for you about forum reporting though. The forums are migrating to a Batteltag based backend for the system. Each Battlenet account will have one Trust level that applies to all posting alts, one set of flags, one set of likes, one Ignore list, etc.

Our real Battletag will not be displayed - they are using a WoW forum ID made of the non-unique text portion of your Btag + a new random number. You can still post on alts with your avatar displayed.
