Since I know Earth Tanking is a bit too much to ask for at the present, and likewise so too is 2h Enhance (I remember why it was originally removed), I have a simple request for Blizzard to give Shamans the following weapon proficiencies and the ability to use said weapons.
As a Dual Wielding Class, they are severely handi-capped in terms of weapon appearances by being locked to 1-handed Maces / Axes and Fist Weapons. As a casting class, they are less restricted, having the ability to use 1-handed Maces / Axes / Shields, Staffs, and 2h Mace / Axe. But there are some weapon assets that with Hunters being given dual wield and moving away from a two-handed play-style that are rarely if ever used, and which adding them into the Shaman kit would make the class far more enjoyable for players.
For Dual Wielding Enhance Shamans, it would be very nice if Shamans in Midnight could also transmog 1-Handed Swords and Warglaives. Warglaives are a very niche item, but have serious ties to Shadow Hunters as much as they do Demon Hunters. Since Midnight will factor in Troll Lore with the Amani, it would make sense to give them this option as many races have a terribly outdated stance on Fist Weapons. Major weapon clipping into one’s head or face for example, is an issue that takes a lot of options away from a player. At that point you are essentially going to be relegated to axes or maces if your race has an odd fist combat stance. That gets very boring very quickly.
Allowing a Shaman to wield these weapons, would let players better express themselves. There are several 1 handed swords that visually would frankly speaking.. Look incredible in the hands of a Shaman, such as say the Scimitar of the Sirocco. This isn’t a design request but rather a simple aesthetic request designed to evolve Shamans and to let them have a little more freedom over what they fight with.
Likewise I believe Elemental and Restoration Shamans would be well served if they were allowed the ability to transmog spears. Hunters no longer use them and I am not asking for them to be added to a Shaman’s loot table. Merely enable the transmog option so if a player wishes to rock say the Thunder Spear of Odyn that you can get off of the Legion Remix, as an Elemental Shaman, they can.
Again I stress, I am not asking for them to be added to a Shaman’s loot table. I am merely asking for the proficiency to these weapons be added so players might tailor their characters to truly reflect what they seek to embody as a Shaman.
