Request for Improvements to the Retribution Paladin 4-Piece Set Bonus and Paladin Auras

I would like to strongly request improvements to the Retribution Paladin 4-piece set bonus.

Currently, in Mythic+ dungeons, the actual performance difference between the Retribution Paladin 2-piece and 4-piece set bonuses is only around 4–7%.

I believe this is far too small for a 4-piece set bonus.

One of the main issues comes from the interaction between Final Verdict and Divine Storm.

Because the 4-piece effect requires us to alternate between Final Verdict and Divine Storm in order to properly utilize Divine Arbiter, this creates a small but noticeable GCD inefficiency between the two abilities.

With the 2-piece setup, there is no need to alternate between Final Verdict and Divine Storm in the same way. This allows the same ability to be used repeatedly without suffering from that small GCD inefficiency.

As a result, the 2-piece setup can sometimes perform surprisingly close to the 4-piece setup, and in certain situations can even produce higher damage.

This makes obtaining the 4-piece set feel much less rewarding than it should.

Please significantly increase the damage of the 4-piece bonus

I strongly request another increase to the damage provided by the 4-piece effect, affecting both the primary target and nearby targets.

I understand that this effect has already received an increase, but the improvement still does not appear to be sufficient in actual Mythic+ gameplay.

Obtaining a 4-piece set should provide a meaningful increase in performance that matches the anticipation and effort required to obtain it.

Players should not work toward completing their 4-piece set only to find that the actual improvement over the 2-piece setup is merely marginal.

Please reconsider the current tuning of the 4-piece bonus and make its impact significant enough to justify completing the set.

Retribution Paladin’s position in high-end raiding

More importantly, Retribution Paladin is currently struggling to secure a consistent spot in top-end Mythic raid groups.

This is not referring to Mythic+ dungeons.

I am specifically referring to high-end Mythic raiding and the very top progression guilds, where Retribution Paladins are currently having an extremely difficult time securing a raid spot.

It is disappointing to see a class that should have a meaningful place in high-end raid content struggle to consistently earn even a single position in the rosters of top Mythic raid teams.

I sincerely hope the developers will take this situation into consideration when evaluating Retribution Paladin’s overall performance.

The goal should not be to make Retribution overpowered. The goal should be to make the spec competitive enough that a skilled Retribution Paladin can realistically earn a place in a top-end Mythic raid team.

Paladin Auras also need improvement

I also believe Paladin’s auras and group utility need another serious look.

When comparing Paladin’s current group utility to the buffs and utility provided by classes such as Rogue and Druid, it is difficult to feel that Paladin brings the same level of meaningful value to a raid group.

Paladin should have stronger and more impactful group utility that gives raid leaders a meaningful reason to consider bringing a Paladin.

I strongly hope the developers will consider improving Paladin’s auras and overall raid utility alongside the Retribution 4-piece bonus.

Please don’t let players finally completing their 4-piece set be met with disappointment.

Please make the Retribution Paladin 4-piece bonus feel truly rewarding, and give Retribution Paladin a meaningful place in high-end Mythic raiding.

They did…
Soo much so that it is very much better to pay attention to use it.
And buffed enough to actually tip the scale toward Herald that gives a free DA on WoA usage.

Edit:

It hits harder than Hammer of Light like…

Id ignore the troll flaming your post. The tier set feels completely irrelevant to use.

How is that flaming?

They did exactly what he requested before he asked.

Divine Arbiter is 1012% AP which is higher than any single target spender so you DO want to use DS in st to get that damage.

And in AoE it does 472% AP which is higher than divine storm which is 263%AP, which means that you do want to use FV to get the effect in AoE.

If you’re not using it, you’re missing out big…

I’d like to know as well.

You ain’t never lied.

For me, Divine Arbiter is always my second highest damaging ability. It literally does 10-12% of my overall damage.

This cannot be overstated.

its 9% overal of your damage in high end content
which is the third strongest thing in your overall. i think the 4pc is already strong enough already. any other buff will just make the spec feel more punished if you dont have the 4pc. which is never fun.

thats not talking about the overal increase from the 2pc due to how much dp procs we get especially in our most important damage windows

i mean thats a issue of rogue and warrior and mage being to strong. if these specs were tuned down then ret would probably be the best choice.

we shouldnt want to be op.
