Keep getting spammed by people with ‘blizzard’ like names trying to scam accounts. I have tried to report and I get the error ‘report system unavailable’. Seriously? How are we supposed to fight this type of spam/scam without being able to report it? Two days in a row been contacted by the same name lol. Blocking them this time but it would be nice to be able to report someone phishing.
I’ve noticed this several times too. Not sure if I can’t report things because of a bug or I was blocked from reporting for whatever reason.
Still happening, I’m trying to report people advertising in the newcomer channel and its not going through.

there is a addon from curseforge called BadBoy: Spam Blocker & Reporter that someone could test.
It’s not related to any addons. Reports still broken today.
i know it’s not related to addons. when blizzard adds updates or patches something gets broken. just someone needs to test it to see if using the addon works
I don’t think so. Blizzard protected the report APIs to block automated submissions a while back.
badboy v11.1.0 has 39.4k downloads since feb 26 2025. so it must be working. also there’s a addon for auto loot because that to is broken since jul 2024
It filters on the client side. It does not report things to Blizzard automatically anymore.

why do support just ignore all the threads reporting seems like a crucial element
if you cannot report players for something in game then it’s game breaking and needs fixing … looks like people at blizzard do-not know how to code something into the game without busting something else

Just adding that the report system goes down all willy nilly on me as well, and I dutifully send in a bug report that may or may not ever get read, as recently as this morning.
How is this still a problem?
Botting and cheating is so much of a problem now but Blizz now doesn’t even care about humans reporting
Allow me to provide some context, from across my different characters, just to add to the discussion.
It just… happens sometimes? And then it goes back to normal after a while. Could be a few hours or a few days, in my personal experience.
The most important thing, from my experience, is this: it always starts working again after a while, and it usually doesn’t take long.
It’s a 20-year-old game, run by human beings, using systems that we are largely not privy to. Just like there will never be a 100% perfect, bug-free patch, there will be things that break or go down because reasons.
It’s upsetting/uncomfortable/scary and might feel bad when it happens, sure. Two things can also be true at once: feels bad and just be like that sometimes.
That’s my two cents as someone who has experienced this periodically for months.
That’s a lovely post and all but mine doesn’t work 100% of the time, since 11.1 I think. I stopped keeping track after a few weeks. I’d like it to work again so people aren’t getting off scott free, even if it is placebo half the time.
