After last years Diablo Immortal’s blunder Blizzard is making sure everyone has a phone this year.

Aren’t you glad you gave them your phone number for more bag space?

I had one last year I used it to sell my stock when they asked if we had phones.

It’s the people who bought the tickets who brought up this as an issue for them and they’re not comfortable with it even after spending hundreds to attend. You’re making assumptions and basing your opinion off of that. I can’t believe you’d white knight for a billion dollar company trying to steal a person’s data for profit. You should be ashamed. This isn’t a “don’t like it don’t go” issue, this is an issue on companies feeling entitled to glean you for everything you’re worth and profit from PERSONAL. PRIVATE. DATA. Watch the damn video and learn the extent of data they are gathering and why this is wrong.

LOL I never did that thank god. The 4 spaces weren’t worth it. But due to these types of practices, I no longer use a cell phone. Back to the 90’s. Great Scott.

Not whiteknighting. Presenting a solution. Don’t like the terms, don’t go. Or use a burner device.

Blizz will do anything to make a dollar.

That isn’t a solution. The easier solution? For Blizzard not to stoop to this level. You go ahead and give them your entire catalogue of personal data if you want to, MOST people don’t.

Yikes. I wanted to attend a Blizzcon one day, but not with something like this. I’d have to get a burner phone just to attend.

I saw this on reddit several days ago, before tickets went on sale. It wasn’t widely known I don’t think, but it was out there.

It is, these days I have trust issues with China’s products or any app that ask for personal info like google (At this point I am sure they know more about me than my mother), twitter, FB or IG. I don’t even trust youtube these days.

Thanks for the clarification. It seems that Blizz isn’t making it clear anywhere since I see this is brand new news to people attending.

No they definitely aren’t, it was only brought up in a comment over there. Someone had to dig to find this info about the app.

If you want to go to blizcon use a pre paid phone not your own.

I wonder what they’d do if you showed up without a phone at all, tbh.

I wasn’t going to do Blizzcon due to the botting / tickets on Ebay thing.

This just convinces me to watch it on Youtube later.

Lol, you know what they’d say

I am not. I don’t plan on going. And if you read my posts, you would see that I wouldn’t give them any personal data because I would wipe my phone before attending.

“Don’t you guys have phones?!”

“No actually”
