Hi there.
When I went through MoP the first time, I hurried through it because it seemed dumb. But then I realized it was really cool, and went back and did all the reps; I got the Farmer title and picked up Master of the Ways and got cloud serpent flying and all that. Later I started an actual pandaren monk, and wanted all that stuff on him as well, so I went back and re-did it all.
I also did it with a lot of WoD reps because I wanted them on multiple characters as well. I haven’t done it in Legion or BFA, though, (at least not purposefully) because I’ve been more focused on my main than my alts, and there hasn’t really been a compelling reason to grind reps on multiple characters.
But I firmly see each of my characters as different entities. It seems silly that one of my alts would automatically be exalted with some faction just because my main is; my alt hasn’t done the work to get exalted, so the faction doesn’t know him.
I used to. It was nice having different patterns available on multiple characters. But with the heavy time gating for limited rewards, it’s just not worth it this expansion beyond my 2 mains. And even then, I’m only hitting certain ones.
I unfortunately have to grind to some degree for professions to keep my guild stocked so there’s that
Hi!
So I think that’s a valid point. If some rewards were specific to character and not account incentive to do it on multiple characters would work.
But the way Legion and BFA locked rep to world questing seems to have put off a lot of people doing it multiple times.
Seems like two issues right there could be addressed and that making rep account wide isn’t the answer but giving people flexibility on how they earn rep would. Instead of locking it to quests / world quests maybe a faction banner that could be dropped to earn rep on kills with a faction?
This guy has most of my rep, but I’ve just started sending out alts to get exalted with their main factions for heritage armor when it comes out.
I don’t even grind rep once. I let it naturally show up. I’ll be exalted eventually.
My main has 99 reps. Tovi has 10 or 15 less than that.
My Paladin and Priest get any extra rep tokens I might pick up.
I have 13 characters exalted with every legion faction thanks to order halls. Unless I really want something from a faction, or I get the rep passively, I refuse to grind rep on more than one character.
I have a Horde(Mage) & Alliance(Paladin) who are exalted with everything, and this guy is the 3rd best with mostly honored/revered but he’s also been my main for many years in the past, sitting at 92 reps exalted overall. Mostly on this toon.
I don’t want to honestly I hate the idea. I wish so much that my paladins rep was on this DK. The paladin was my main for BFA at first, but then I missed my DK too much and went back. I want to get exalted on my account for champs of azeroth, but I loathe playing my paladin so I am having to do it on my DK. Oh well, that’s how it works I guess.
I had so many rep tokens by the end of Legion that I’m still sending them out to my allied race alts as they hit Legion level. >.<
You asked 2 different questions.
- Have I re-grinded rep?
Yep, every alt has to get to Revered Honorbound to get the 5th follower. (Had similar grinds in Legion).
- Did I like it?
Nope, not even for a second. I’d rather be having fun in M+ or something.
NOTE: Bliz has absolutely decided that re-grinding should exist. In Legion I could send rep tokens to alts and mitigate the nightmare. In MoP I got a handy double-rep account-wide unlock. In BfA it’s just pure grind for grinding’s sake. Bliz wants us to do un-fun things and like it.
I did the Insane twice and had 55 exalted in Wrath. Currently, I have all BFA factions exalted on one horde character and well on my way on an alliance character.
Never would i grind rep again to just grind rep. Pointless. Thinking about all of those lonely nights watching Lost and running through Dire Maul …Shutter.
I have 2 120’s at full-exalted, and 2 others getting close. But since Paragon chests are the best way of making gold lately (as bad as they are), I feel like I might as well.
Plus, it’s not like I’m really trying to grind that rep. I’m just choosing to log in for the Emissary on 4 120’s. Recently I’ve been questioning even that tho.
I haven’t actively pursued reputation since Mists of Pandaria. However, I always seem to max it out while playing the game that I play. I don’t really pay attention to it but have reached exalted on multiple characters.
Well, then it’s a good thing that those are the two easiest reputations to cap by a mile. My alt is still working towards exalted with every rep except honorbound, of which I have gotten probably 4 paragon chests out of so far.
You start getting that 7th Legion chest LONG before you start getting the others.
Pre account wide rep yes on a few. Since then it depends on a character by character basis. In example my main will be exalted with every faction I can have him exalted with, my DK it was only natural to get exalted with the Ebon Blade, and all other factions that existed for the purpose of killing Arthas and so on.
No, I’m of the camp that believes reputation should be account-bound not character-bound.
