Are you being intentionally obtuse? It’s not a gift. It’s a game we pay for. People are upset because the original rep gain is way too low. 75 rep a WQ is a joke when you need 40k to hit exalted. The only downside of accumulating too much gold too easily could’ve been prevented by simply nerfing gold rewards from paragon chests.

Blizzard is no better than Bethesda or anyone else. They’re one of the pioneers of loot boxes and other scummy practices. If they thought the backlash was manageable, they would add those options to WoW’s shop in an instant.

I’d rather spend my SL time doing SL content instead of leveling in old content, that’s just me though.
Easy fix, bonus rep doesn’t count towards paragon chests

Ya but BfA is like the only game where reaching max level can feel like a punishment.
I can’t even stomach one alt at 120.
They didn’t have to gift that to us but they did
But expecting it is wrong, that’s like wanting a better gift from your birthday because the first one wasn’t good enough
tbh … I would have pathfinder but I refuse to do the turtle world quest… so Bfa flying can go to hell lol
They didn’t do it out of the goodness of their hearts. They’re trying to make money, and they thought that decision facilitated that goal. That’s the beginning and end of it. So no, people shouldn’t just pay their sub and keep their mouths shut because “they didn’t have to give us anything”. They DIDN’T give us anything. They made a business choice that highlighted how flawed the original BFA rep system was. And people spoke out. As they should.

No… If you paid attention before any of the buffs happened, it was meant for during the start of covid-19 crisis
Read the first blue official statement:
If you’re staying inside and find yourself returning to Azeroth , or if you’re leveling another character (or two), you’ll be getting a special bonus to help you on your way.
Hint the bold words. Every other company was doing something like this in March/April
Now people are trying to turn it into an expectation
And it’s wrongful to think to hold out your hand and expect more or do the “or else!” Stance
Oh, so the PR department decided to add a line about Covid, and you took it as the word of God? It had nothing to do with Covid. It had to do with executives looking at numbers, and making a decision that they thought would pull some expiring subs back, and increase engagement of current base.
Unfortunately for them, it highlighted how bad the unbuffed system was. And now people are complaining.

And now expecting a hand out or else is wrongful too, it was a gift regardless of a crisis or not
Appreciate the slice of cake, don’t ask the whole cake because you weren’t happy one slice wasn’t enough
And if you really paid attention to the previous interviews right close to the start of said crisis, they mentioned there will be buffs when shutdowns started
They mentioned about it before it got officially announced
But since now everyone is doing that or else stance, I hope Blizzard doesn’t do this again but so many people are not appreciated

I already explained. It’s neither a gift, nor a handout. It’s a limited time event intended to increase subs/engagement. The people who made the decision couldn’t care less about you. In fact, they couldn’t care less about the game. They’re money men. And they’re there to make money. Stop acting like they’re your friends.
As a customer paying for a product, it is well within your rights to complain about any aspect of it, and put pressure on them to change it. Why would you give up that power and advocate for “just take what they give you please”? It makes no sense.
Rep gains are garbage. Blizzard should be pressured not to replicate it in SL. You know, since I would like the game I’m paying for to be fun.

No really, the responses here is why I believe majority just want handouts
Lets be honest if You rarely look at wow head you wouldn’t have known any of that … blizzard has horrible communication that even makes my bad communication look decent.
People don’t like the current state of rep grinding, myself included. If you go to the forum search and look for my name and MoP or Commendation or Tabard you’ll see I’ve posted a few times about bringing the dungeon tabards or mop double rep commendations back. People just don’t want the grinds to suck, they suck right now compared to the past whether you can complete them or not.
Pretty sure he’s just playing devil’s advocate for the fun of it. Everything you’ve said is correct that the 100% Rep buff highlighted the problems with gaining reputation this expansion. It takes way too long, and then you get exalted and you still have to pay money or charms for the items you grinded rep for.
It’ll always be Blizzards fault if they do or if they don’t
No buffs: “omg Blizzard is a greedy company, there’s a pandemic going out and they aren’t helping the ones staying inside”
Buffs for limited time: “omg Blizzard extend this or I’m quitting because BfA bad lul”
And you know that’s true
