You say current content, but after 7.2?..
Players weren’t steamrolling through the challenges on release when it was current in 7.2. It certainly wasn’t “trivial”. And it was still challenging, albeit somewhat easier in 7.3 and 7.3.5, respectively.
Furthermore, their new iteration is in Timewalking. You’re scaled down. There’s no out-gearing it as far as I am aware.
All the more reason to reintroduce it as it was originally intended. Both in difficulty and rewards.
Lol imagine flaunting an appearance you got less than a month before prepatch as though it took skill at that point.
I’d prefer to be able to do 4 of them on one guy if possible and worry about the other three later, but I guess we’ll see how they handle it.

It was trivial as soon as the nether crucible was added even without the massive bump in ilvl from throne gear.
This obsession with exclusivity needs to end. The removal of content over the years has made the game worse. Every time I give Blizzard the benefit of the doubt, I find myself disappointed with their decisions every single time. The Mage Tower returning without artifact weapons/forms may have swayed me in the past, but not now after all of their mishaps. What’s even more ridiculous is that we’ll only have a chance to obtain these rewards once every 4 1/2 months because of Time Walking. It’s just absurd.
Off to greener pastures I go.
Why is the druid the only class that gets a re-skin of the real reward? I think there should be one re skin for every class instead of some tier 20 sets that look worse then the original ones. Feels like a bust to me.
It wasn’t trivial since there were still mechanics that would kill you in particular for the Tank challenge.
And gearing up wasn’t a one week and you’re done thing. It’s not like you could make a new toon to run the challenge for a desired specs look and faceroll your way to it with zero effort. Did you actually do any of them?
When you finished a “challenge” that could be massively outgeared matters a lot when arguing to keep something exclusive because of the “skill” it took.

You just get a different reward, which is a win win for both new players to try the content and old players to get new stuff.
Yeah, mythic raid gear wouldn’t save you if you got launched off the platform or one of the NPCs died.
Knowing blizz they’ll make it way harder than it ever was.
The werebear looks great and I’m super excited to get it! However, like what other people have been saying, I think it’s a bit disappointing for all the other classes who have been looking forward to obtaining their artifact weapon appearances as well. I understand you didn’t want to release the same exact ones, but I think to make it fair for everyone you should put the time & effort into making recolors for every class. The hype behind the mage tower was around the weapons after all, not so much recolors of armor sets you can obtain already
Please consider working on other class weapon appearances as well, even if it’s just one each like you made one werebear recolor.
Know what, Bliz? why not also throw in an xp levelling tree thing like chromie, void doors and torgast just to make it extra special on top of not giving the original rewards?

The only way you got launched off platform after a few tries was if you literally didn’t pay attention it was incredibly trivial in throne gear with crucible
No one can out gear one shots. Or velen’s horrible healing. He would actually drop the only healing orbs in the big aoe that stacked and instantly killed you passed a number based on your class. Nothing out gears that. Oh and he would stand in bad and die, and then get killed by adds if you where too slow.
All of that would be instant wipe and none of it could be out geared. So it was always a challenge. Stop trying to take away from people who earned it.
Sure…with full Antorus gear and the right two Lego’s. That didn’t happen over night in particular for Alt specs. Plus, the Healer ones actually got harder but I guess you never did those.
Genuinely no reason we couldn’t have gotten another crack at the artifact skins. Timed rewards that are gone forever don’t make sense in an MMO and they never have. Imagine a brand new feral seeing someone using a ghost cat form, and getting all excited about earning that for themselves, only to discover it was gone before they ever started playing the game. That sucks. Hell, the only way to have Mage Tower forms on Kul Tiran and Zandalari druids is if they race changed from an older alt. Why is that good design for anyone?
