Nope - have to be originals. Blizzard obviously didn’t fall in love with those as playable characters.
I like the idea of class and race fantasy having impactful meaning in the game.
I don’t know really how I’d feel about Mags getting warlocks or taurens getting warlocks. Or pretty much any scenario like undead goodie two shoe classes.
I suppose it could happen in some future scenario but it needs a lot of lore behind each to justify why. Not just a flippant approach.
Im all for opening some other options if they’re reasonable, but the moment i see undead or blood elf druids blizzard is losing my subscription
Tauren warlocks would be the best thing since sliced gnome.
100% for it. BE Druids & Shamans. Make it happen Blizz!!!
Loss of more RPG elements. Class restrictions are a part of that.
Against it. Lore should mean something in a story based, RPG game. Which, regardless of what people might argue, WoW still is. The story might not be the best right now, but there is a story, thus we should operate within the realm of it as much as possible.
This guy wants to remove raid mechanics and remove class restrictions.
Agent of destruction
Druids and Shamans would be the major problem since they have race specific visuals.
I think the restrictions should be loosened up some.
Someone in an “Orc Druids” thread posted some renderings, in the past. And they look beautiful!
I’ve seen em! They don’t look half bad!
The cons would be lots of people complaining about “lore”. It would bother these people so badly that the forums would explode with tears. People would threaten to quit. Some would even unsub, but eventually the tantrum would end.
The pros would be that we’d be able to play any class from any race.
Lore means crap anymore.
don’t forget there’s already lightforged shadow priest.
/shrug
We have Blood-elf warlocks who somehow don’t blow up the Sunwell, but removing class restrictions would require a lot of lore for you to be happy?
Oh, I know… The writers wrote something about warlocks not really using void magic and summoning a void elemental next to the Sunwell doesn’t REALLY summon a creature made of pure concentrated void energy.
I mean, after all, a void elf merely got close to the Sunwell and all hell broke loose, but Blood-elf warlocks are okay and don’t need lore.
this thread rises back I see.
It will never die
The only class “impossible” to exist, by physical means confirmed right now are Void elves paladins and undead druids
void elves would explode probably and undeads as being of necrotic magic could not channel the nature magic.
The rest is pretty much possible with a reason/spin/rp
VE paladin could be a thing if blizzard in the future, retcon their bodies, or say they discover a new way to channel the light within then without explode, pretty much like the undeads who just feel pain.
Undeads druids could be a thing if they go for the kultiran route, with dead animals, using the death part of the nature, would be cool as f* imo
Its a RPG, its about time they let us decide what we want to play with our races, giving us the freedom to create our own RP with that class.
Oh, and the light that physically burns the Forsaken would somehow allow them to be paladins?
I think if we could have forsaken paladins, we could have Void-Elf paladins
As beings of necrotic/death magic, the light only hurt then, don’t do actually damage, they just fell heavy pain.
with the void is a bit different i think, void and light are opposite things, as seeing with alleria, but she is another case, like i say, they would need to work around that, to say it would work similar as the undeads, they would feel mensurable pain, but would not explode because their control
we have no limits honestly.
