I didn’t understand what made something an embellishment, so I got the wrong item crafted. I understand there is a way to remove it with Griftah’s powder. So I sent a recraft request with the powder, 7 Primal alloy, and the same missive with a 2500 tip to the person who originally crafted the request.
The crafter denied it and sent me a message that I need to remove it myself, before I send it to them, to “right click the embellishment to remove it,” I have no idea what they mean and I didn’t want to start a back and forth in-game mailing thing lol.
Anyone have any idea what the person meant? I am so lost when it comes to this.

The crafter is wrong and you did the right thing. There is no way to remove an embellishment from an item in a recraft, only replace it with something that inhabits the embellishment slot. Such items are either another embellishment (sounds like not what you want), an Alchemical Flavor Pocket (nice but usually pretty expensive, especially if you already have one on another item), or the Griftah’s powder.

Did you use the powder to replace the existing embellishment in your order? The crafter can’t do that for you unless you put the powder in the embellishment slot to overwrite your current embellishment.
Also some items can’t have their embellishment removed as it’s an innate part of the item (e.g., Elemental Lariat, Frostfire Plate Belt, Venom-Steeped Mail Boots, etc.).
