Okay, people that like a challenge can still do M+ because I’m not asking for it to be changed or removed at all, I don’t do it so I don’t care that it exists.
All I’m asking for is a version of it without a timer, even if it gave no rewards, that you could maybe do higher versions of it still. I just enjoy doing dungeon content without a timer that much, and normal/heroic dungeons are not even a thing anymore in this game unless you play at the start of an expansion and that’s it.
I would disagree, that’s what makes them fun. Not fun is watching a movie while you do a key because it doesn’t matter. Fun is being on the knifes edge because one mistake can cost the key
People will just go “no thanks!” and ditch the group if you tell them you plan on patiently sitting around waiting for lust on certain packs. Heck, I see enough people in this thread who already wouldn’t do it.
That’s literally what I do now because there is no dungeon content at max level without a timer. Any time you try to do a normal or heroic it’s literally just 1 guy who overgears it soloing the dungeon and it’s not even worth doing. I’ve leveled so many characters in this game ever since M+ became a thing because there is no other fun dungeon content in this game anymore without a timer at max level and I very much miss it.
After you get over +10 if lusting every pack is what’s required, then that’s what people will do - at least until that style of play becomes boring and then they’ll just stop doing m+. What you are essentially asking for is the death of mythic plus. Please stop.
I think maybe you are missing the point of M+ then and should look elsewhere for content you might enjoy. Take it from someone who tried to force themselves to like M+, I hate affixes, I hate how every affix is there to slow you down. I want MoP Challenge modes and I had hoped M+ would be similar but it isn’t, so I sucked it up and stopped doing M+ outside of the bare minimum needed to gear.
Then get better. Then people won’t get mad at you. People will start to want to play with you because you don’t make any mistakes. You will develop a group of friends who you push with, and when you occasionally do make a mistake you’ll laugh about it instead of them getting mad
You’re exaggerating. It won’t be required because nobody’s gonna make groups where the plan is to sit around waiting for lust. You won’t make them, I won’t make. If somebody makes a group like that, good luck getting anybody to sign up for it.
Please recommend where I can find relevant dungeon content at max level without a timer I’m all ears. If you’ve done normal or heroic dungeons lately, you probably know that it’s just not even worth doing anymore and doesn’t scratch that itch of dungeon content without a timer how it used to be in this game before M+ existed.
I don’t want M+ to be removed, I know people enjoy doing it and that’s great. But I currently just straight up don’t have the option anymore to do the kind of content I used to do in this game for like a whole decade.
I’m trying to, but M+ is so stressful and unforgiving it’s hard to focus on everything at once. Expecting total perfection throughout an entire run just gets to me. I fully admit that I’m not that great of a player and it’s hard to remember everything about these dungeons, especially when they change literally every week.
Without affixes, you could just blitz through any dungeon so long as you weren’t getting one-shot by whatever unavoidable damage is going out. Affixes are there to make you actually have to think about what you’re doing (at least slightly more than just rolling your face across your aoe abilities).
how about if they did that, every 1 min over the timer you lose 5 iLv off of the rewards in the chest at the end?
go over by 10 mins, your gear is worse than starter blues at the beginning of the xpack. go over by 20 mins, the gear that drops is less than from the prior xpack.
im being facetious ofc. no that would be a really bad idea to remove the timer. i basically pug all of my keys and ive probably had more groups fall apart mid run than completed this season because babies just leave after a wipe. people need to eat a bag of concrete and harden up and get better at the game.
like morhaime said in that interview last week, there pandering to the masses ruined the social aspects of this game. and a part of the social aspect to this game is the community playing together to achieve a goal and feel great about it. if you move the goal posts to make things easier players dont have to try as hard in the kiddy pool anymore and the game loses its magic and what makes overcoming hard odds fun. overcoming a challenge is good gameplay. when you can hurr durr on your keyboard and are still rewarded the same as someone who put in effort, then that isnt really fair for the person that put in effort.
Funny thing is I’m not exaggerating at all. It will become the meta and because it’s the meta, the people will follow. Maybe the casuals won’t do it, but everyone else who pushes keys will. Right up until they all quit because they can’t stand doing it any more. You’re right, I wouldn’t do it - I would just stop doing m+.
Then maybe Dungeon content isn’t for you and you should look into Raiding for long fights with intensive mechanics. I’d argue you are better off asking for a different kind of dungeon content as changing the fundamental mechanics of M+ seems naive at best and selfish at worse.
Torghast might be right up your alley from what I hear as its solo based Dungeon content that scales in difficulty the further you go.
I get it, I really do, I’m just saying the Speedrunner in me wanted more Challenge modes as opposed to the Diablo style keystones. It has a place and I’m not mad at it, just a difference in playstyle I suppose.
