Just let us buy flying from the riding trainer again. Flying wasn’t a problem until Blizzard said it was. Then they tried removing it in WoD to “fix” this problem, and we all know how well that expansion turned out.
No expansion until WoD had a problem with flying. Is Blizzard saying that their new devs are incapable of designing the world around flight like the old devs could over a decade ago?
Really? Did you even read what I wrote then, because with a sentence like that, it really doesn’t seem like it,
If I “didn’t want to do the requirements” I wouldn’t have Pathfinder for WoD, Legion and BfA.
And this has nothing to do with player skill, it’s about meaningless time consumption, the reputation requirement is only a part of Pathfinder to waste time, there’s no other reason for it to be there. You don’t “prove” anything by getting the reps, other than proving that you wasted your time.
Yeah they are a bitter bunch about flying and every xpac the more bloated the pathfinder becomes the more obvious their hate for the mechanic. I personally hope they get fired or move on to another game. Which ever comes first i honestly don’t care. As long as this spiteful dev team is gone and we get one that cares about whats fun.
Maybe, but the most probable answer is: flight makes it harder for them to artificially increase played time metrics. Just look at Nazjatar, multiple layers of floors, a terrain that is weird to navigate (to say the least), all that goes to hell with flying.
But that’s the point, if it is tedious, more likely than not, it means that you’re doing something that you don’t really want to and if you think about the gameplay, what exactly does the rep grind proves that you did inside the game?
Exploration: you went around the whole map, fine.
World Quests: you did stuff while going around the map, okay.
Storylines: you experienced the lore around the map (stretching a bit, but ok)
Reputations: you wasted your time on a tedious thing, with no real rewards?
Sorry, but if you’re going to be chasing the Rep anyway for Rep Vendor items, then it becomes a necessity.
If you aren’t trying to kill more than one bird with a single stone, then it becomes beyond tedious. Which is where I stand. I’m going to do tedious grind to get it all done.
But I’m not going to force myself to plow through it to the point it’s not enjoyable or I simply burn myself out.
And a Tedious task can be enjoyable. Tedious doesn’t denote a lack of pleasure in the action, only that its a type of action.
So when you said “No real Rewards” what you really meant was “No Rewards that I am interested in”?
I wish that Blizz would offer the choice of Pathfinder or buying Flight at max lvl on a per toon basis once it is unlocked… but if it is to be one or the other I pick Pathfinder.
They won’t believe you. They play the game as if it only has one way to play it and hardly ever do anything that’s not efficient towards some “goal”. To them, the game IS progress bars.
Nobody is saying rep grinding is Hard. It’s not an “achievement” to mindlessly complete world quests every day for a month. It’s just stupid boring and I’d rather use my available game time to do something actually fun and enjoyable.
