Remove the Questing Addons

some people followed joana’s guide. That’s the beauty of the game, people can play how they like

These addons don’t really disrupt the experience. The effect is rather minimal is completely personal. These addons are very different from the LFG addon. Calm down.

Na bro, you wrong. You’re just mad your dungeon finder was taken away. Personal experience vs global experience, apples to oranges mate.

They already did it, on private server questie was able to have a quest traker that auto track all quest you turn now this is limited by the api. You can still see them on the maps/minimaps tho.

This.

Once you set up your group in the LFG addon you can walk away and come back 15mins later with a group.

If you used a quest addon, and walked away, when you come back you wouldn’t have moved an inche, and also probably be dead

Automation is bad

Who said I was mad about dungeon finder? Look I understand you’re scared, the idea of reading a quest and figuring things out for your self…well we both know that’s just too much for you. Retail is still there for you.

Questing add-ons do, in fact, negatively impact the community.

During Vanilla, many players would ask for directions in General. People would group with you at the location and help you figure out where to go.

It helped people build reputation for being reliable and nice.

Questing add-ons remove the chance for players to be helpful to one another.

changing a few API features doesn’t mean a win, they guy will just change it if he feels its worth it lol

I’m off now boys, It was a good win for us today. Good battle. Keep fighting the good fight and don’t let these vocal minority forum heroes win.

If you used Motherlode cheats in Sims then walked away and came back it wouldn’t automate anything. Still cheating.
If you used a maphack in Diablo 2 then walked away and came back you’d still be in town. Still cheating.
If you used a wallhack to see where things were in a FPS then walked away and came back, you’d prolly be dead. Still cheating.

Quest addons are cheating. DBM is cheating. Just because it’s always been allowed doesn’t mean it’s right.

Have fun in retail where your hand will be gently held and you never ever have to read a big scary quest!

nope kills social interaction when you don’t have to talk to others to figure out where quest items are and so forth

Do you no what automate means ?? It doesn’t mean anything you said at all …

That’s not going to happen anyways, since people can just google it and use the far more reliable, up-to-date resources we have today.

You’re not going to be able to recapture the lack of knowledge and the social implications of that ever again.

These guys are so upset about the blue post today regarding the cancerous LFG addon that now they’re making posts about all addons in general. The worst part is they don’t have any arguments backing up their claims.

The addon created a social network within the game. That was the problem. Questie does not. It’s like weakauras. It has no effect on people not using the addon.

Flag as spam and move on.

Valid point tbh. I remember having to ask where the individual pools or camps were in the barrens chat (before it was cancer even)

If questing addons are cheating, then what is zygor’s guide? what about joana’s? What about wowhead on my phone

Leveling guides are a much faster and more efficient, more mindless way of leveling to 60

Did you play classic? Maybe it’s because I played on Illidan but it typically went something like “Look it up, idiot” or “check thottbot” or “idk”
