And last time we did that Ion had the genious idea to put GCD on everything.
kill and quest in azure area, youâll find it.
does an aoe dmg too.
Gunna take a bigger leap in this show hereâŠ
By this logic letâs take away all stats on ALL gear , take stats away on everything!
You talking the ghost shark launching trinket AoE ? I love that thing
You just made me think of that wonderful trinket from the Argus raid that summoned a mini Sentinax to bombard your target. As a warlock I freakin loved it. Face off against my withering curses, my incinerating fel flames, my demonic armies, and my toy-sized warship of doom!!!
Sometimes the gimmick is a bit much for trinekts
Like the kickball one from the academy, does great single target damage, I just dont like running around as a tank lol
I like having 1 to use + a proc trinket. I hate double on use.
@OP, can you also please restore the Manual Crowd Pummeler to 3 charges of massive attack power, and fix the back door to the workshop so we can farm a bagful of them?
Stats on trinkets wouldnât be so bad if they werenât so stingy with trinket drops. How many expansions have we gone where weâre waiting for our second trinket that takes forever to drop, or can only be gotten by doing stuff we donât normally do? Sometimes if you PvP you can fill the slot with a semi-adequate PvP trinket thatâs better than nothing.
Uhh good players never stopped doing that
I like the stats on them but I would sacrifice them for more interesting trinks
Like black heart or like updated one from cleave Jr or unholy would want wandering plague again.
Maybe thereâs gonna be one where we get and extra point for class n spec like the get to choose that other talent on that row from past expansions, but itâs super duper low drop and itâs not unique
I actually kind of like that idea.
Same, though I do usually have 1 on-use trinket equipped since theyâre better for performance. I look for something with both an effect I like and a cooldown that matches up with my DPS cooldowns, and put it in my cooldown macro.
Thankyou for actually giving a constructive answer, I agree farming old content does suck for sure so thats a valid argument against scaling up previous expansion/patch trinkets that I didnt consider. They have found a way around this by rotating old dugeons into Mythic Loot pool thank god. In terms of removing/redistributing stats from current trinkets I understand what you mean about the balancing but wouldnât it make the game more fun if they were to remove those restrictions.
For instance take Manic Grieftorch, one of the best trinkets in DF by a mile but it grants Agility or Strength meaning any spellcaster/healer is immediatly unable to use it. Now yes their are other trinkets they can use but what is the point of locking it out at all. Maybe Grieftorch isnt viable on an int class sure but give players the freedom to play around and find out. The only downside I can think of would be youâd have a few more people to roll against for the loot.
You gain more stats.
The trinket slot used to be used for stats and/or toys before toys existed.
You donât need a âfunâ slot anymore. We literally have hundreds of toys to use on demand.
The vast variety of trinkets and talent customization already does this.
This is something that does NOT need changing.
I used to put my toys on all the time between pulls. Now I donât have to swap out gear for them. Itâs a non issue. We have toys.
Sorry, someone ripped the page out of Blizzards dictionary that had âFunâ on it. I have to assume it was Ion.
Your trinkets are not dropping ?
Another thing that having stats on trinkets does is allows trinkets to be restricted to only be useful for certain classes/roles.
Youâre right. Why settle for what we have when you can think of ways to improve and add more. Again Stats are just numbers they can be tweaked and moved to different armor slots.
Im not talking about toys Im talking about trinkets that change and effect your playstyle. Certain trinkets are restrictive or not viable because they are tied to a state value that does not really matter it can be moved to any other piece of gear.
Can you provide any sort of reason why restricting trinkets because of stats provides any sort of benefit to the player or the game that can warrent the point of arbitrary restrictions? Does it really break the game or do people just hate change?
Manic Grieftorch - Cant be used by casters (only gives Agility or Strength)
Storm Eaters Boon - Cant be used by casters (only gives Agility or Strength)
Rumbling Ruby - Only Gives strength but would be a fun effect to try on a Rogue.
Broodkeepers Promise - Only Grants Intellect but would be interesting to use on Tanks
These are just a couple of DF Trinkets that are restricted because of stats. Yes it would require more balancing but the build options it opens up are so much more interesting.
Why not? Removing the int stat on a trinket that shoots out bolts of fire when you attack makes the trinket not feel bad to use on a class that uses strength and allows the strength user to also shoot out bolts of fire
Or make the stat change based on spec like armour does
