No one wants that fairy sht. We get it, a developer designed it in shadow lands and you don’t want to hurt their feelings.
Reasons why I hate it.
It’s another global that steals damage profile space from our original dots.
Again, another global. Inflation.
Forced if you play Soul harvest hero talents, or even all together forced.
It’s a foreign damage source, ex borrowed power from shadow lands.
Imagine all of our dots did 100 damage per second, well now they have to make our dots do 70 per second to add in soul rot so it can do 60 damage per second (because it’s a cool down, nonetheless our core dots take a nerf and are still sitting at a lower number. No thanks.
It’s not exciting being a “burst dot” boring mechanic. I’d rather dark soul or our core dots be at their full potential.
Don’t need another dot, already maintaining the current ones I have. Its not challenging, it’s just tedious.
Now it’s shadow school so it’s just ANOTHER thing we can get locked out on.
Absurd argument lol. Borrowed power!!.. borrowed from 6 years ago.
That isn’t how it works. Without Soul Rot Blizzard may want MR to be 90% of our damage, or maybe they just want UA to be 80%. It isn’t shared communal wealth with an equal cut.
Also if you knew anything about Aff in TWW you’d know Wither has been hitting like a truck and being over half of our damage profile.
Dark Soul basically exists in TWW.
There is nothing to maintain about Soul Rot.
Finally a valid point, but not really because if you Soul Rot then get locked out casting MR you’re still not killing anything lol
It’s a good visual spell that is strong in ST and AOE. That’s all I need to know about it to want it to stay.
The skill is not a problem, the problems are : they put it in a spot that force players to pick and no other talents can gain equal dps, the second problem is they force players to use it because it’s a trigger of certain powerful hero talent.
Soul Flame, now Soul Rot… is dislike?
Wow now I understand when my friends say I play like a minority of players in WoW.
I actually love Soul Rot… with its AoE Life Drain sinergy… even wish it would also affect Shadow Bolt or Drain Soul… then again it doesn’t matter with the new cool proc of throwing multiple shadowbolts talent passive.
However I do admit that if Soul Rot didn’t have that specific synergy I would not be so inclined to chose it (just like when Soul Swap was change, I literally stop using it) and the terrible cripeling weakness that Affliction have, with being mainly Shadow that is severally share with Shadow Priest! Devs IMO should seriously consider expanding Affliction and Shadow Priests Schools of Shadow, right now in the wiki we have all these to choose from:
These two I found interesting… as I know I have a trinket on one of my Characters, that does Cosmic damage and there is no reason why affliction couldn’t do a curse that does Chaos damage IMO: Cosmic Arcane, Holy, Nature, Shadow Chaos Arcane, Fire, Frost, Nature, Shadow, (Holy, Physical)
All have been into the game in some shape or form so it maybe possible to add these to the arsenal of the Shadow user Clases IMO. Unless the Devs want to create new combinations… Blood should be Shadow and Nature like Plague is… but in the game its classify as Shadow even as the Lore explained that its “Torture Life Magic” hence why the Nightmare of the Dream takes its “Bleeding Red twisted Ambience look” IMO.
I mean sure, PvEing to a single target boss for 10 minutes won’t feel inflated. But in PVP when you have 3 targets, 3 dots to keep up on them, haunt and then you add in all of the above it’s inflated.
They do just need to buff it somehow… especially since ID is gone… One thought is to make it buff drain life to do a lot of damage, split between how many are effected by soul rot so it can be useful in ST and AOE…
Or maybe move oblivion to be under soul rot and replace drain life. should be tuned obviously.
Also make choice node between soul swap and seed of corruption ffs…
