You are confused.
They CAN make custom groups. They just canât modify the preset title and description.
So go forth and have no fear that anyone is being blocked from a part of the game unduly for they are not.
Also I would argue that anyone who has an active sub to this game but not a cell phone with SMS capabilities should probably focus their time and effort on improving their IRL situation to the point that can be fixed instead of worrying about having the means to customize a LFG title/description.

Phones seem more important then wow, you know because connection to family, emergency services, food. If you canât afford a phone you shouldnât afford wow because your priorities seem wrong.

As a community, WoW players abused a feature.
As a kind of government, Blizzard put regulation in place.
Not hard to understand that there is no amount of whining that will change that unless the underlying reason changes.
And I think telling someone that âYour idea is crap someone else made it betterâ has actually the opposite effect, as the person will then try to make their idea work even more so.
It is like trying to tell your significant other to dress better by saying someone else dresses better than your significant other. We who have significant others know how that always end.

That is only part of the issue. The issue is that instead of improving LFG filter options by enriching it with options, like - current boss, looking for specific covenant, learning group, etc. they simply removed the only valuable thing about it (textbox) and left us with nothing.
