Remove Flying. It killed the TWW Leveling Experience

I Don’t know if you can NOT fly from the new zones …

never tried … now I am curious might be time to level my Prot Pally and see if I can move around on the ground

okay I was typing when you texted this … SOMEONE HAS DONE it?

That is fine, but the OP wants to force us all to not fly… Oh hell no.

Yes I’m sure he did with edited out parts where he had to fly :joy::clown_face::clown_face::clown_face::clown_face:

You can’t stay on the ground between the zones because of cliffs, especially the Coreway.

However, you can take a flight path. Which in my book doesn’t really count as flying.

I like the idea OF maybe at time of for some reason BUT NO you can’t unring that bell …

I ran then rode at 40th?? when I started … then 50th for faster ride I think then 60th for flight and pain in the butt cost / quest withe druid for fast flight…

GAWY 40th level WAS a LONG WAY TO GO …

Though my druid had a reason for ground travel form back then

I wasn’t aware that Blizz was forcing anyone to fly against their will…
Aside from areas that flying is needed to reach of course.
But otherwise, you can walk if you need to be ’ immersed '.

You are welcome to just, ride a ground mount. There is not a federal law saying you MUST fly to each quest, the feds aren’t gonna bust down your door because you’re riding a horse in world of warcraft.

Go forth live your ground sworn dreams.

I do the same from time to time I mount on Ali’s horse and ride through the streets or city it can be fun. But I also enjoy getting up in the air and just going. Both style can coexist and the ability to fly does not prevent ground travel (except druids, please separate flight and travel form).

Alot of But But But here. Flying ruins the game. I said what I said.

Imagine being a creator and your entire map, side details, the caves and cliff huts you put decor in… get completely ignored because the entire gamer base is zerging around on dragons lol.

I don’t get it. But… ok.

I do think flying hurts the questing experience for those who care. I disagree with removing flying. Leaving flying locked behind Pathfinder is probably best but they would have to limit the design of zones. People that care more about immersion can also just choose not to fly but that doesn’t encourage new people to have a great experience.

I think the door is already wide open to flying so we’re just going to have to expect further erosion of the quality of the player base.

A door that is only partly open and could still be controlled is difficulty. I was originally concerned with flying but after playing this XPAC, the insanely easy difficulty has done far more harm than flying.

I think really WoW is at a point where it has already lost most of it’s MMO player base. They really need to just separate the worlds. We need a great Blizzard MMO but now there’s these two groups the game is catered to that make it impossible. One side wants everything to be remix and the other just wants a competitive arcade combat game.

The new player experience involves flying at level 10 and for them, their first leveling experience will be on the Dragon Isles.

So the odds of you getting your wish granted are zero, 100% not happening.

I happen to find riding on my Mount while leveling to be an extremely more immersive experience, especially in Hallowfall.

Dragonflight and TWW zones were created specifically with flight in mind 100% of the time. You can obviously get around on the ground, so go ahead and feel free to use a ground mount as often as you would like.

So everyone that enjoys flying while leveling should have that ability removed because you want to be selfish because you have zero self control?

I needed a good laugh, thanks for that.

(quietly wonders if the OP understands flying is optional)

:coffee:

The anti-flight people will always post and cry.
While demanding, or asking, for flight to be removed.
Too many of them seem to think that because they lack the self-control to just walk, or use a ground mount, that means flight should be removed for everyone.
All I want, is for everyone to play as they want to.
Don’t have to agree with it. But I don’t have the right to tell anyone " the correct way to play ".

lol I literally didn’t fly in “certain maps” just to inhale the theme, beauty or eriness and fantasy shown in them when I could… but I would never suggest something as hyperbole as removing something that will literally make others unhappy… Also some of the maps look AMAZING when you look at them while flying FYI.

If you REALLY dislike flying you can ride the map on the ground like I have sometimes… but there is no need to limit others to that. (IMO)

Unless your trolling then I guess enjoy your vacation… if they flag you.

EDIT: Oh nvm they already flag you…lol

Hiya skin nice thread looks like you got lots of bites and it’s not even Sunday.

Sincerely I hope you’re enjoying the expac I know I am lol.

You always had the option of not using your flying mount.

You even had the option of not using your ground mount and walking everywhere on foot like people did in vanilla until level 40

lol true… well we ARE in maintenance I guess that help… got nothing better to do if all you want to play is WoW… was a bit bored.

I could be playing D2 or ESO but I WANT to play WoW, so I lurked in the forums until its up or I get assigned a job to do by e-mail. lol

Agree. This trend of not liking something as a personal ideal so they want to make it illegal/remove it for everyone really needs to go away.

If you don’t like broccoli that’s cool: you never have to allow it inside your house, but that doesn’t mean it should be banned for everyone.

I literally rode around on Taivan just to do so and look at how the roads were laid out because I love that they still bother to think of the approach to different areas by ground.

You really don’t have to fly if you don’t want to. Hotkey your favorite ground mount and remove flying mounts from your bars. Done.
